Filters are not dishwasher safe

The filters for the range hood turned dark and spotty in the dishwasher. I have been able to somewhat clean the metal rim using a vinegar and water solution and a non-scratch pad, but the screen mesh remains dark and spotty. The filters look dirty although they're clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the HPFAMM30 filters. Even though the filters are dishwasher safe, I prefer to recommend that you wash them in the sink with hot water and Dawn dish soap. It is a good degreaser and will not harm the aluminum. Sometimes detergents available for the dishwasher mix with minerals in the water and they can fade and discolor the filters. This doesn't affect the effectiveness of the filter, but it does affect how it looks.
