Replaced A Older Different Model Range Hood. The New Broan Outperforms My Older Unit By Far. If I Knew About Broan Before I Would Have Never Purchased The Other Unit... Very Pleased With Broan !

Uglier Than Ugly

Just finished a beautiful total kitchen remodel and we have this thing stuck right in the middle. The way they are displayed in the store its so tight we didn't notice how bad the underneath looks. Also, because it's open you can feel heat from the attic coming down. And it wasn't cheap. And, we can't return it because it's past 30 days from purchase, it's installed and we don't have the box. Very very disappointed. We're going to throw this dog in the trash and purchase a new unit from a competitor!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Over priced for cheap install

The product is nice, problem is the install. If you go up a model you get easy install rails. This doesn’t have a template of easy rails. This is horrible to install! You need wood shims if you have an under cabinet and you don’t figure that out unless you go to the installation Manuel on their site ( doesn’t list specific instructions with what comes with hood)
It needed 2 of us holding this up the whole tome while trying to screw in, the dimensions they give you are confusing and vary too much!
The hood looks good but after the horrible time installing (took hours and multi trips to store) covered in fingerprints and hard to clean!
Get the next level up so you get the rails for easier install, this one is a ful!!!!

Yes, our backsplash is still missing, we are still remodeling from our house being destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. But we are working on the kitchen and found this Broan. Included a picture, but this is what I see when standing at the cooktop. Not nice looking at all. You see all the screws, holes, etc. You see completely underneath even sitting at the kitchen table. So not worth it. Does not look good with fresh clean cabinets when you can see right underneath like that.

We appreciate your feedback on the BKSA130SS range hood. The underside of this hood is not completely enclosed so you will see underside of the hood around the filters. This hood should be mounted not less than 18" and at a maximum of 24" above the cooking surface for best capture of cooking fumes. We can offer some suggestions of range hoods that have an enclosed underside, but how you have described this hood is how it looks. Like the hood, only wish the lights were easier to replace,not a good setup having to use that little suction cup, a little tricky to change bulbs ! The lights are nice and bright.
