Love it, but stopped working at 2 years use

As part of a kitchen remodel, we replaced a 30+ year-old exhaust fan in November 2018 with a lovely, quiet, wonderful lights BCDJ130WH. I have LOVED it. Then one day, nothing turned on, the front display is dark. Circuit breaker checks out. Local repairman made a diagnosis, but could not fix as he is not a Broan authorized repairman. Apparently the LCD control unit has gone out and replacing it will cost almost as much as a new exhaust fan and the fan will just about have to be taken apart to do the repair. I will call an authorized shop to be sure, but I am SAD that it has not lasted longer!!!!

I bought this range hood about a year ago to replace an old GE. It is by far the best purchase I have ever made. The lights are bright and well directed. The fan system is outstanding with great "pull" on the two fans. I would highly recommend it.

Note: I have this range hood connected to an outside vent; I don't know how well it works in recirculating mode. The dual fans move a lot of air. Very quiet on Low and Med and a bit noisy on High but a lot quieter than my cheap old unit. Dual 3-brightness LED lights provide more than enough light well past the sides of the stove. Exterior finish and styling are very nice and interior construction seems OK.

Because we have cabinets above our range, I did not want to buy a microwave oven with a built-in vent for over our range. This vent met and exceeded my expectations. The fan has 3 different speeds. When the fan is on, I can actually see any smoke and floating spices getting sucked up and away. The led light has 3 different selections, which allow me to see what I'm cooking so much better than my previous vent. A third button can be used to set a timer to turn off the vent after a few minutes. My favorite feature is a fourth button, which can be used to turn off both the fan and light with a single push. This single button can be used to also set the vent to your previously selected settings without having to turn on the fan or lights separately. The hood filters are easy to clean. The vent is finger resistant and extremely easy to clean. I would highly recommend this vent.

This range hood does its job very well. We like having 3 light and fan settings but even the lowest light setting is quite bright. The fan definitely sucks up the smoke and steam. We had to have ductless installation so the fan blows the air right back into the room. But we were glad that it didn't need a conversion kit for an extra price to accomplish that. We had a few problems with the installation, the fault of the installer, not the Broan unit. He failed to remove the plate that allows the air to be blown back out for ductless installation. And he secured the hood so tight to the cabinets above that the cabinet doors scraped the top of the hood. The store sent another installer to remedy that. He had to place a shim in between the top of the hood and bottom of the cabinet above it so the cabinet doors now swing freely and there is space for the vented air to blow out, which is at the top of the hood and not the front.

Blower fan broke

The blower fan snapped and came off its housing replacement fan is very expensive.
