Broke first load.

Didn’t even make it through first load. Started making terrible grinding noise. Had to turn it off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good price, good features and capacity

We liked this unit a lot because of the all the different cycles and the Extended Tumble feature--sick of laundry getting wrinkled. For the price, this unit delivers more than you expect. A gas dryer is always the way to go for efficiency purposes, and this unit is a great buy. My only complaint is that we looked at another competing model that had a control panel that could be placed either on the top front (normal location) or on the bottom front of the dryer. In our stacked configuration this would be really helpful as these units are very tall. We ultimately chose GE due to price and our experience with other GE appliances, but suggest this be added to future models.

The installation of our dryer was quick and so far everything is working well. I really like how easy it is to use the dryer. The only thing I would say as a negative is its a little loud.

Extremely loud scraping noise!

As far as I can tell this is an awful product. It has been making an extremely loud scraping noise from day one. I have to leave the house whenever I want to dry my clothes. I've had repairmen out twice now to no effect. This will stay a one-star review till the problems fixed or the appliances repair. As it is I'm feeling like I will never buy GE or recommend GE products ever.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
