Wouldn’t buy again

Bent duct input. Left light flickering when on medium exhaust. Nightmare to install!! Had to trim the tall stack ourselves in order for it to fit our application. We like the color.

Very nice product. Worth it, only issue is the two lights produce alot of heat. That keeps us from leaving the light on.

Works well after installation. Some trouble with the install. The small chimney cover did not wrap over the main chimney as designed. One butterfly damper flap did not operate smoothly on its pivot. It bent when manually activated. I used the old butterfly dampers from the replaced hood; they opened and closed smoothly. The fan off button has an odd crushing plastic sound, but operates well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Difficult to install - hardware supplied awful

The range hood looks nice but it's very hard to install. The anchors supplied pulled right out of the wall and the hood hit me in the face, so I had to go buy better anchors. The small screws supplied to attach the duct covers don't fit in the holes on the brackets. I've spent an hour sifting through my own screws trying to find something that will fit. Might be a good hood, I don't know yet, but I'm pretty ticked off about the installation.

Don't Judge By the Looks

The hood is very loud and doesn't suck up of the smoke on the low level. I bought it because it matched the other GE appliances. I don't like the white screens. They throw of the look of the hood.

Hello- We are very sorry to hear your hood isn't sucking up the smoke like you expected it would. Vent hoods are 100% function-tested at the factory. Exhaust performance is a function of many factors, the most important being anything that restricts airflow. Make sure filters and hood surfaces are kept clean of grease and dirt.

Hoods work best when installation recommendations in the Installation Instructions are followed.

* Some lower CFM hoods should not be installed over professional-style cooking products with high BTU ratings. Low-CFM hoods do not have the draw power needed to eliminate smoke and odors.

* Make sure nothing such as animal nests or packing materials is blocking the vent.

* Check the damper cover. The cover may not be opening; it should swing freely.

* Check to ensure the filter is installed with the open end up so that it clears the fan blade.

* Check that the filter is not twisted or bent.

* Check for obstructions in the ductwork. It is important that your wall or roof cap has a cover or door. Make sure nothing is blocking the vent. If you've checked everything and feel there is an issue with the performance, please take advantage of your warranty and reach out to GE Consumer Service by calling 1-800-432-2737.
