Power cord is too short.

Seems fine - but the power cord is too short, so now I need to get an extension cord to use the fan where I need it! However, the product manual advises against using an extension - unless the extension's electrical rating is equal to or greater than the appliance. But I cannot find any info on this fan's electrical rating!
My old fan had a longer cord - at least 6 ft.
I'm very unhappy with this shorter cord!
