Won't Waste Water

I got this kettle b/c it was small and stainless steel. The plastic 1 at work had some gunk growing on the heating element which turned me off from wanting to use it. I do like a hot drink in the AM so I decided on this. It does what it is supposed to do for $$$ though. A tiny dot appeared at the bottom of the base which I thought was rust and I tried to clean it off but it's there to stay. It hasn't grown so I'm ok w it. I do try to leave the lid open after use so that it can dry out properly. This size is good b/c I don't have to dump out as much water on the plants afterwards.
