After almost 2 years and over 400 breath tests, my BACTrack Element was starting to return errant readings. Unit was calibrated and returned as advertised in about a week. Works like new again.
i got one and it worked for a little while, then quit. sent it back and got a new replacement. tried to use it once and nothing. of course my level was low and it read nothing.
I've had the S80 for 2 years sent it in for recalibration. Purchase the brand new key chain breathalyzer and when I got up other one back from calibration it read half of what the keychain did so I was told to send the keychain and the s80 back and they were both recalibrated and checked out. I receive them back and they seem to be doing the same thing one reads .04 and the other one reads .021
Yes so we have to calibrate our devices. Doesn't bother me as it gives me peace of mind that I can rely on their ongoing accuracy. The worrying part however was how this service would work. Let me re-assure you that it was extremely simple (in an age of fill out a form get a sticker, write down a number use a special envelope etc..) my device was gone for about 7 days and returned clean, working and with the details of who performed the calibration. well worth the small fee
