I have been using the S80 for several years and it has helped me not only temper my drinking but has kept me out of harm's way. I will NOT start my vehicle if I have a reading of 0.040 or more. I keep one in my vehicle and one in the office which my employees can use for the same and it also helps keep them "on thier toes".
Was disappointed to learn my 4 year old device cannot be made usable again because I did not have it calibrated AT LEAST ANNUALLY. The fact that the unit was not calibrated since I bought it is what led to its failure. The owners manual should advise that calibrating the unit on at least an annual basis is an absolute requirement if you want the unit to continue to operate.
The readings varied. I used it on my friend with three readings within minutes of each other and it read.17/.16./18. We tried this on 2 petite women and they could not create a strong enough breath to register. It takes too much of a breath sample to register for small women.
This is the best friggin thing. Like even right now, I SHOUKD NOT VE DRIVING!!! So I'm not. Saved me from myself over and over. CHECK YOURSELF B4U WRECK YOURSELF! - as my daughter would say. Love it!!!
I own 3 S80 units. All deliver widely different results. I have to take the highest reading and use it for my baseline. Following all proper procedures I would think the readings to be more accurate. Perhaps newer models offer better accuracy
Just got it and all well except it wasn't apparent how to turn it off and, incredibly, the manual doesn't address this. It should have an OFF button. Also, battery compartment door doesn't seat easily or well.
I would recommend this to a friend!
