I've been using these for 8-9 years. I haven't had asthma, bronchitis, or pneumonia since I started (I do, however, have 8 various Holmes units throughout my house...). The filters are very expensive, difficult for my retirement budget, but so-o-o necessary to fight dust & other allergens.
