Great Addition to the LEGO star Destroyer Line
on April 3, 2018
Posted by: BUILDER1627
This set comes with both pros and cons, but generally does not disappoint.
Pros:
The engine detailing especially looks beautiful, but most detailing looks great in general
It can fold and unfold for play features like previous Star destroyers
It comes with more uncommon minifigs such as snoke
Cons:
While I know the design is hard, the gap between the panels kills me, and lego did a much better job of covering it up with the top piece of the last star destroyer.
Feels very fragile. While I know the carrying handle is pretty strong and sturdy, it generally feels kind of more loose than others and feels more easily breakable. With that, I found that parts on the panels broke off easily.
Last, the stud shooters not being able to rotate is kind of disappointing. I liked that feature about the last star destroyer.
Overall a great build and the designers had their challenges which got solved to a degree, but I underatand the struggle of the challenges such as the gap and stud shooters with the flat bridge and overall shape. It is a great addition and would recommend it.

This must be in your fleet

Looking from side view would seem a bit plain but rear view and inside view are stunning. You will keep opening its top covers again and again. Building technique is also interesting. Must have!

Nice display set
on April 20, 2018

This set seems more geared toward display, which is does very well. The exterior is pretty detailed. Flip open the panels and the entire inside is available. I pretty much use it to store about 20 minifigs from the 13 other sets I have. (I actually just starting building the Star Wars models after starting with Technic. I am completely addicted to these, doing 13 sets in the last 6 weeks.)
This was the first Star Wars set I built, so it's a little fuzzy, maybe I can edit this and do a better review later . It's defiantly a nice way to start up a collection, or add to what you have.

Really Nice Set

I was torn on the design of this ship, as the original SS is one of favourite ships from Star Wars, but after re-watching the films and seeing this ship again I decided I really liked it.
Really happy with the LEGO version, plus its got the Snoke minifig so I'm happy with that too.

Fun build
on October 28, 2018

Really liked this build, it was fun and the interior is not bad at all. The only issue I had was that the turrets are stationary and won't be able to move, so in a shootout game you have to turn this ship to port or starboard before firing. Other than that, good build.

Unexpected surprise !

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this set.The box was quite big so i expected a massive ship. While it is quite large I thought it was bigger. While building it I realized that it was going to be a bit smaller than i thought( seeing the 1400 pieces made me assume it was larger).
As I was building it I realized why the 1400 pieces... the amount of detail is amazing. The interior holds plenty of space for figures, for more than it came with. There is a table with 3 chairs, command center with 4 chairs, an elevator. A command station for one figure, and a second station that holds several figures with some display screens.
The top opens quite nicely, it is well put together so no fear of it breaking. The ship is quite heavy so i find the handle to carry it is not strong enough. It feels like it will break. The top opens fully giving you full acess to the interior without having to remove parts.
The outside is nicely detailed and the back of it looks great.
Overall this set exeeds my expectations. One of the most fun sets i own.
The biuld itself(despite taking long) was fun. I made some mistakes that were easy fixed. Too many pieces the same color.

A really great set

As a fan of the First Order/Empire, this set is a must have. The build experience was really good as the instructions were clear and there were no hidden gotchas. I really though the crew pit and the control panels in the interior were a nice touch to display minifigures. Speaking of minifigures, this set comes with the exclusive Snoke minifigure and a Shuttle pilot which are really cool. The only reservation I would have on this set was the fact that when you close it up, there is a noticeable gap between the two side plates down the middle. A minor thing in the grand scheme of it. I loved building this set and would recommend it. The value for money was good considering it is a licensed product.

A must-have for any Lego Star Wars collector!

I heavily enjoyed building and playing with this set. It looks amazing and is very detailed and the play features include 8, very cool side facing stud shooters, a detailed bridge and control room, and, a hyper lift leading to Supreme Leader Snoke's throne room.
Pros: This set looks amazing and have authentic Star Wars detail such as the corridor light. An easy carry handle is included which is cool and helpful since the model is so heavy.
Cons: The control room panels are a little shaky and may move slightly when transferring. Some of the stud space inside of the destroyer is also limited and the minifigs may fall over if they are in a certain spot on the bridge.
Over all, I believe Lego Hit it out of the park with this set and I would recommend it to anyone.
May the force build with you
