Great fun

My first set of the wave, and will probably reman my favorite. The level of detail in the build is amazing while not being too complicated. It's fun to build and play with. It's play features are well integrated, and the bombing mechanism is simple yet effective. The minifigs are incredibly detailed, though the admiral is a little plain.

Another top set from LEGO Star Wars
on December 31, 2017

Well well well, another beautiful Star Wars set from LEGO. And what is there to say (well quite a considerable ammount now I come to think on it)?
Let's start at the beginning, no not that, or there, but with the build. The uniqueness of this Bomber is replicated beautifully by LEGO and kudos to the set designers. Whilst this next comment is perhaps more relevant a praise to Lucasfilm, but the feel of the bomber invokes the feel of US Air Force Bombers from the 1940/50s.
The build, never repetitive, is fun and engaging, with the sections coming together to construct a surprisingly sturdy vessel. I was concerned that it might be flimsy, or not stand correctly. Certainly the design of the Bomber does not lend itself to standing up perfectly without additional support, but I was wrong (to quote Obi Wan in Return of the Jedi), this set does indeed stand beautifully on a shelf (mine is on a shelf, but yours may be on a table, in which case rest assured, it will also stand beautifully on a table, a cupboard, or indeed the rear seat of a 1950 Pontiac Chiefton should you so wish, although no fast corners please.
However, I will add here that the LEGO designers have strengthened the base and given it a wider berth compared to the Lucasfilm bomber, and this allows it to stand perfectly. So what I told you was true (concerning the design) from a certain point of view....there goes my Alec Guinness impression again...
However, where was I? The build, oh yes, well this is a beautiful build, and engaging. The overall look of this design is fantastic, and it has so many options for display and play.
Sorry, I do appear to have gotten lost in this review, so lets skip to the Interior and minifigures..
The interior is again, brilliant, and surprisingly spacious (honestly, although you still won't fit a brass band inside (or a Resistance Battle-Pack), but it is great for fitting the included Joes and Janes. (Poes and Amilyns....see what I did there).
The minifigures themselves, wow, this is almost an entire crew fitted into this Bomber (okay some smart Alec (not Guinness) will likely tell me that Poe and Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo were never onboard the Bomber...). But for kids (and big kids) this is a great set of minifigures, and a surprise that LEGO actually included so many. The inclusion of Paige is also brilliant, and to those of you who have seen the film, we all know that she has a lasting impact. I won't spoil it for those who haven't and don't know she dies. (come on we are almost three weeks in now!)
The play features on this set, are great fun. The ability to drop bombs (sorry magnetic explosives propelled through electro-magnetic plates in order to draw them down upon their targets) is fantastic (if you like such things). And the exposed gunner positions are also good fun to play with, turn and rotate, and simulate the terrifying battle over D'Qar.
Overall, and I thank you if you have managed to get down to this part of my rambling review, this is a fantastic set and I want to thank LEGO for producing it, with such a great assortment of figures as well.
I tip my hat LEGO, tip it off, don my Resistance helmet, and jump into my MG-100 Starfortress Bomber and swoop off to bomb the heebies out of that First Order Star Destroyer!

This set is absolutely fabulous. There are numerous characters with great printing. The build itself is so much fun! The ship is a great size and looks really good on display! On top of that, it has some wonderful play features, including the bombing mechanism and the almost hidden stud shooters. My sister and I love to play with this set along side the first order star destroyer. The LEGO designers did an excellent job on this set!

Fantastic ship!

I have a large collection of Lego Star Wars ships and am still looking forward to a Nebulon-B Frigate one day. This resistance bomber is close-ish in design and I jumped on it at its release.
The build is very enjoyable. Building the frame before attaching all the components to it. The bombing mechanism is very well design and I love how the spring shooters are integrated in the ship, and not some ugly dangling red laser!
The interior is great with gunning and piloting stations.
Some very small drawbacks: - The bubble on the top back does not fit the seating area well (rounded vs square), leaving spots "opened to space". Good thing the minifigures have a version with a mask on! - The laser cannons under the cockpit are held only by a little piece and can be knocked out fairly easily during play.

A Strong Start to a New Wave

I wasn't planning to buy any new sets from the LSW theme until the movie came out, but this I could not resist. It does not disappoint.
The set looks excellent on display and has a great range of play features. The minifigures too are excellent, though an extra crew member would have been nice to fully kit out the craft, as nature intended. There are six seats but only five dudes!
This set isn't too hard to build and could be and good one to give to the budding Master Builder in your home to let them try out some different things they might not have before. The range of parts is also fairly unique, with some excellent printed pieces. I'm not a fan of stickers but the high quality designs are worth the pain!
The price is a little on the high side but you get your money's worth.
One awesome-looking ship bristling with weapons and crew compartments, five awesome minifigures and a handful of neat accessories. The minifugures really are a strong set; the bomber crew and Poe have some neat suits and head prints, and the helmets are UNBELIEVABLE. Holdo is unfortunately the weak link and could really have done with some leg printing to go with her good torso, head and hair, but this is a very minor complaint and I'm glad to have her on board.
I hope you found this extremely tired review helpful! If in doubt, take the plunge and buy this set!!

Bombs away!

After reading some reviews i decided to grab this Lego while on sale. No regrets! It is a very nice ship. While building it I had some concerns about how fragile it would be, the bottom pannels are just help by blue technique pegs and a few normal brick to brick connections. And i was concenrned about how balanced it would be while on display staing straight. So far the side panels stay in place without a problem, and the ship stands up well balanced. Wouldnt take much to tip it thought. As for the rest it is awesome. The rocket propellors give it an awesome look. It has a button that releases the bombs one at the time, and buttons to release the lasers. It will be most likely one of the most played Lego beacause of the heavy bomb drops. It has 5 figures and space for all of them inside. I was a bit disappointed with the fact that there is no weapon holder. All 5 come with blasters, and they dont fit in the turret with them, but there is enough space inside to put a small Lego box as weapon cache. The turrets tilt when you tilt the ship, this alone makes it awesome, nice realistic intergalactic living room space fight! Defenetly a nice add to a collection.

Great for collectors and kids

I really like the look of this ship, and it looks amazing when displayed. The play features are fantastic. The bomb mechanism is really awesome, and it hasn't failed me yet. The hidden firing mechanism also fits perfectly in. The turrets move as you turn the ship, and make a great play set. Overall a great set for collectors and kids. Only bad thing about this set is the price, this should be 90$ in my opinion, but the figures do compensate a lot.

We need more sets like this

The build of this set was great, did not bore myself at all while constructing this.
the overall thing is just packed with play features, and though i do find it a shame nothing can aim in a horizontal way, looking at this build it is just not hard to just imagen it could do just that.
First times i had a few issues with the bombing projectiles getting a bit stuck, but somehow after 2 runs of all bombs trough the system it now just works flawless.
The interior, for having such a cramped space is done really nicely, everything just fits perfect.
Solid build, nice to pose to, just everything i expected it to be when i saw a review saying this was the best "the last jedi"-set out there. Though at the moment of posting this review i can not compare it with anything else from the last jedi, i can simply believe that being the case.
Further, nice figures, like really, all of those in one set...wow...
and as extra, finally ! finally they made a nice play set that actually hides those bigger arrow shooting canons and actually integrates them inside the actual craft.
It is so good i even wonder if i should wish for an UCS model of this, because, even though the overall movie design would fit a UCS lego model well, it was just so well done and it just invites to play and to pose so well, that i am not sure if an UCS model would really outclass this one.
