BB-8 Great Build Experience

Was kind of putting off this set to buy others but received one as a gift, and am I glad I did. The design and engineering that went into producing this set is tremendous. The head moves, and the welder pops out of the body very much like in the movies. This set is now proudly displayed in my Grandsons bedroom. As you go through the build and watch as all the gears and moving parts interact one can’t help but be impressed. I am very pleased having gotten this set.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a set I was very excited to get, having seen the images of it I loved the fact that you get a stand and a spec sheet sticker like the UCS sets, I think these really finish off a set nicely.
The box was bigger then I expected and it came with 6 numbered bags, the build was very enjoyable and it was a lot more intricate then I thought it would be, the amount of mechanisms inside this build are very fun to make and none of it was boring or repetitive, even the outer shell of BB-8, each side is built slightly differently. The build tool me roughly 3 hours and wasn't especially challenging but some parts were quite fiddly and require a fair amount of pacience.
This set comes with some awesome functions, there are parts which you can turn on each side, one which makes the head turn around and the other makes the lighter thumbs up come out of the front, when you turn them it is a very smooth process and all moves very freely. It also feels like a very strong and solid build and you don't need to worry about carrying it around.
You get a smart looking display stand and a spec sheet which is a really nice addition and doesn't take too long to build (not as long as some other stands like Slave 2 or TIE Fighter), you also get a minifig of BB-8 to go on the stand.
I would definitely recommend this set to any Star Wars fan as it's an awesome build, looks fantastic and has cool play features and can work as a nice display piece, (it would also look awesome if you have the UCS R2D2!)
Easily 5/5 for me!!!!

This is a Fantastic Set. Lego have pulled out all the stops in the technical area to get the movement of his head is the best I have ever seen!!
They have also managed to capture his Character beautifully.
Overall a Fantastic Build and a BBGREAT addition for any collector. 100% really pleased I bought this set.

Bb-8 awesome Lego set!

Loved this build, the internals were a bit tricky and I had gone wrong at one point took a few looks at the book then the piece to see how or where I had gone wrong.
The outer shell was a bit repetitive as others had said but still enjoyable, it's surprised me sometimes how these Lego engineers do it I would never of got it if I was sat with a big tub of Lego and had to design the first!
Included a picture of wall-e with bb-8! Hope they know the rules for chess!

My sister got this set for me as a Christmas present. She made the right choice! There is no wonder why this set received the nomination of the TOP TOY OF 2017. Do not underestimate the complexity and greatness of this awesome set. You must buy this set ASAP! Cheeseinthepie approved. 12/28/2017

Sturdy set. BB8's got some nice moves. I wouldn't mind letting a child play with this as long as he is careful. Eventhough BB8 is mostly orange and white, there is some nice color pieces used for the interior mecanism.
I would recommend this to a friend!
