I bought this about 6 months ago and use it daily. I can hear it on the 2nd and 3rd setting but its still quiet and doesn't bother me. I am very pleased with it! My apartment doesn't have much ventilation and my boyfriend and I smoke inside. The smoke is the main reason i bought it. I notice a huge difference when the filter is on. Friends even comment on how good it works and how they want one. I was worried some reviews mentioned the filter throwing off a smell, but i haven't experienced that with mine. I am planning to change the filter out for the first time. I like that the filters last a long time because they are expensive. It's so worth it for me though! I'm going to buy a small one for my room. Thanks blueair!

Our downstairs neighbor smokes cigars nonstop and there are large gaps in the door that the smoke comes through. I could smell the difference after a few hours. I found this air purifier by reading consumer reports and this was the highest rated air purifer. I can see why, very happy with the smell improvement.

I bought it about a month ago and its doing well so far. I wish it had different filter cover options because the dust and fur show within a few days. My smaller round filter has better fabric options which hide the fur. I also wish it had the auto setting. The top does snap off very easily if you try to move it without thinking, I can easily see kids messing this up, but I do really like it other than my three small complaints :)

I ordered this because it has an activated charcoal filter to remove chemicals from the air. If my PurpleAir sensor says the indoor air quality is 60 (yellow), I turn the Pure 121 on high, wait 15 minutes, and the air quality is at 0 (green). I'm in Northern CA and the wild fires have made our air quality abysmal. Two in my house have asthma. We now have this filter in the living/dining/kitchen great-room, and the smaller model in 3 bedrooms. And we're able to actually breathe again. All while the outdoor air quality fluctuates dramatically.

This is a great purifier. It cleans the air amazingly. But you'd think for the hefty price tag, it would at least have wifi connectivity to the Blueair Friend app to monitor the indoor air quality. Other than that, it's great.

It really helps in my small home. Worth the money. It also blows air in a way that dust collects by colliding and sticking together. I was most worried about little polyester floating in the air and breathing it. This really works well. Seemed like the biggest cleaning size for the buck. I would recommend if your worried about what I was worried about. I like the simplicity of this version too, not all the bells and whistles.

After about a month of continuous use I feel like I have purchased an expensive vacuum cleaner that gives off a mild plastic/adhesive like odor when in use. I do have less dust in the room. Would not recommend.
