We have purchased three of these air purifiers and this is the largest. I use it near the kitchen part of a large great room that has 10 foot ceilings. I love how well it works. Cook something smelly, turn it on and within the hour the smell is a memory. I generally turn it on in the evening, shut it off in the morning when I would be opening windows. We also have one in our bedroom that's smaller and use it at night for sleeping. I have mild asthma and a lot of seasonal allergies. Now I wake up in the morning clearheaded. The reason for the four stars instead of five is not related to the efficacy of the unit but the noise level. If we are all gathered in the great room I'll leave it on medium as high is a bit too much background noise. If you like white noise the smaller 211 is perfect on high in the bedroom. The other drawback is the larger unit is a bit awkward to move from the corner storage spot in the room to a more central location. With the extra outer filter it will slide easier on a bare floor. Neither issues are a reason to not purchase this product.

My new 211+ been running 3 days in my bedroom / closet hall area on high. I bought because of high rating on consumer reports- the noise level is acceptable … size was little bit bigger than expected, my friend must have a smaller model, i love the look and the size i can work with!
Considering price, look and specifications as well as cost to operate great value and i will buy 2 more for my apartment. Set up was simple, I had a harder time registering for extended 2 yr warranty.
Tip- follow the instructions exactly then explore web site and product info. Question to BLUEAIR IF A RECEIPT IS REQUIRED FOR WARRANTY SERVICE WHY NOT LET ME ENTER THAT INFO AT REGISTRATION? MY GOALS WITH PRODUCT- DUST REDUCTION, ODOR(COOKING) AND BACTERIA/VIRAL REDUCTION.

I was finding a lot of dust and pollen that was getting into my house, despite how diligently I cleaned; and this really aggravated my allergies. Bought two Blueair air purifiers (211 and 121) and within a couple of days my symptoms became less pronounced....and they still continue to improve. Easy assembly, quiet operation, and little to no maintenance. I'm so in love that I bought two for my son and daughter-in-law, and two grandsons (one 3-year-old and one 1-month old). They have wanted to get an air purifier, and I know they'll enjoy the same results as I have!

We have two older model 600 series still in use, and they are fine. But the model 121 improves on them by filtering the air before it enters the machine, instead of filtering the air on its way out. Therefore the model 121 won't get dirty inside.
Circulates the air without blowing it on me, and it emits a pleasant hum at medium speed. It's cleaning the air and not blowing around dirt the way that an ordinary fan would.
