Install problems

the side brackets for a 30 inch cabinet will not work. the hood is 26 inches wide. So if put the bracket as told on inside flush the space between the two bracket are more than 26 inches. I have seen other reviews to add shims . which I will do. plus will have to cut the bracket at the back to make them fit to go up into the cabinet. This is so uncalled for your company to design it to have to do all these things to fix. Maybe you have put brackets for a 36 inch cabinet in the 30 inch box. I am not one to complain. This is to help you all to fix the problem. I will call when I finish this to see if you have a bracket that will work

Poor instalation instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product is great the installation manual for those of us who don't do this type of work all the time, is horrible. No mention of the need to shim the sides of the 30 inch cabinet. No illustration in the manual of the installed unit shimmed.

There is nothing not to like about this hood. It's modern and works really well. We have it vented to the outside, so no more smoke in the kitchen. We had a really difficult hood set-up to replace and this was just what we needed. Highly recommend.

We bought this hood about 5 weeks ago. I installed it, alone--84 yrs old. It fought me all the way due to confusing installation man. We love it to bits! Beautiful, easy to use and clean, quiet, and works really well. Extremely pleased!

Love Sleek Ergonomic Profile--Ouchless Corners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generally Love all Kitchenaid products. The ONLY downside to this particular range hood was the difficulty of installation. Because it fits into a very small space, my husband ended up redoing EVERYTHING (ie. the old range hood was a different brand and the venting configuration was entirely different). He had to redo: inside venting, outside air venting duct (which required drilling a new hole in the stucco), cabinetry (both size of cabinet and outside facing of cabinet), drywall, electrical socket location. LOVE this product but it was a pain in the axe to install. Recommend it highly if you are hiring a professional to install. Not for the casual OR even the journeyman do-it-your-selfer. Would have given it 5 stars if not for this. Sound levels are nicely low, but you have to do the duct work correctly!

Nice Range Hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice hood, easy to install. I did a custom installation, built the cabinet to fit including recirculating vent. The project came out looking great. The only downside is the hood is noisier than I expected.
