Simple but completely effective!

I bought this a month ago. The conyltrols are simple, but work effectively. No need for complex controls here. It works and looks great, as well. The only drawback is the plastic film that is applied to the exterior of the appliance. Removing this film is not difficult, but it can result in pulling off the fridge and freezer door gaskets. I knew of this ahead of time from previous reviews I have read. A simple light scoring with a utility knife right nect to the door gaskets did the trick. The plastic film was easy to remove and the door gaskets were not compromised at all. This plastic film is the only drawback to this exceptionally good refrigerator and freezer.

Solid, basic refrigerator with plenty of room!!!

I've only had this new fridge for a couple weeks. It's exactly what I wanted, a basic top-freezer refrigerator (no need for wi-fi!) that is very spacious and works well. At 18.2 cu. feet, it provides plenty of space for all of my food. I also trust the GE name, having had very good experiences with the brand's appliances in the past. It's a nice looking fridge and works well. It's also reasonably priced. What else could you want?

Not happy!!

We bought this fridge a couple months ago. It does not have a crisper drawer I cannot get the temperature in the fridge above 32. I’m not happy with it and if there’s any recourse for getting something different please let me know.

Upon delivery the men assembled the handles etc, but failed to install two small plastic plugs on the opposite side from the handles is there any way to get these plugs the refrigerator looks nice except for the missing plugs.

I am disappointed with my purchase

I bought this refrigerator b/c the reviews weren't too bad and the slate color matched my new range. Sadly, I would not recommend it. I should have been tipped off when GE publishes a video describing the "normal" noises you may hear from your appliance. We called almost immediately to have it serviced due to the noise level and were told that there is no insulation around the compressor so you will hear it rattle. Basically, the repair man said you get what you pay for; $700 equals a cheap, lower quality refrigerator. You cannot block the vent in the freezer and have to be careful about where you place food in the refrigerator as we have had some freezing. The temperature does not seem to be consistent as some days I pull milk out and it warm, other times freezing. I am not sure I even want to go through the effort of calling for service again. Positives would be glass shelves and storage capacity-however you will have to purchase organizational bins as there is no deli tray. Also, I did not think the absence of a light in the freezer would bother me but..it does.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A very regretful purchase

It's very noisy that's more than I expected the inside design is very poor no meat tray shelves do not split poor design I would not recommend this to anyone if I could get my money back I would and it took 7 refrigerators to get one that was not damaged the first six were dented the seven were scratched we finally accepted it. completely disappointing experience and ended up with a completely disappointing refrigerator

I have very specific dimensions that I cannot exceed. I took this information to the store and asked for an American made unit with strong service reliability. This is the unit that was recommended. I had to view it on line. It "seemed" to be what I wanted. After installation I discovered that I had MUCH LESS storage room. My advice: be sure to physically see what you are buying. Don't rely on the web.

Pretty, bright interior, cools great,

LED kind of lights not the usual bulb so it is bright, top freezer, deliberately chose no ice maker, as depicted in photo. Had the same (crummy) fridge for 30 years so this is all new. Plastic bins in bottom, plastic door braces keep stuff in, two little plastic butter containers on door, no eggs (didn't want one), glass shelves, somewhat deep so deep bends to get to back shelf locations. Overall I give it an A but I have only had it a few months. It is a kind of grey, not black, and shows no dirt- yaayyyyyy
