PIECE OF GARBAGE -run away!!
on December 1, 2013

I had high hopes for these units. Most of the reviews are recent and initially you will be impressed.
I HAVE FOUR OF THESE UNITS AND ALL FOUR HAVE FAILED. Two during the warranty, and then all 4 outside the warranty.
ALL FOUR OF THEM LEAKED EVERYWHERE!!!!
One completely stopped heating, two of them can't heat or cool correctly. The pumps fail (known issue according to the technician).
Run away from these as fast as you can. At this price, problems with one wouldn't be acceptable, problems with four just show major quality issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a couple years ago as my wife was pregnant and we lived on the 3rd floor of an apartment. She really needed AC. The unit did the job without any trouble.

14000 BTU Air Conditioner
on July 7, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the 8000 BTU LG air conditioner but with our hot Florida weather it just wasn't enough to help out the central A/C unit. We went up this morning and got the 14000 BTU unit and it is cooling the living room much better than the old unit. No problems at all after I muscled the heavy A/C inside and hooked it up.
Pros: Performance, Quality, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

14,000 BTU has great features

I would recommend it but not getting the floor model. I also think that they should make the Exhaust hose more durable because mine broke 2 times now and I am waiting for another replacement. Other than that, I would say it's worth it. I bought mine 10/25/12 which isn't that long ago.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings

The unit doesn't work above 85F inside temp
on September 2, 2014

This is a horrible produce.
I opened a ticket with LG support the day after I bought this unit. Their support consultant called me promptly the next morning at 7:45 AM. Cudos to Randy!
Unfortunately during the troubleshooting, it seemed that the unit was working just fine.
My Problem: As soon as inside temps reach around 85F, the compressor would kick in for a few seconds and then quit. I have another AC in my RV that is working fine and I have the temp set at 85F when I'm out. Thank God it's going. This LG unit quits working when it's more than 85F. It regularly trips my 15Amp trip switches - 2 to 5 times a day. Even when the temps aren't that high.
Isn't the idea of an AC to keep the temps down in stead of letting it warm up so much that it quits working because of the heat?
In order for me to have this unit work until about 12PM is to start lowering the temps during the evening to the low 70's so it could have a running start in the morning up until about noon when it reaches mid 100's.
By that time I'm freezing in the midle of summer in AZ. By Around 12PM is when the circuit breakers quit and the unit dies. When I reset the breakers, after about 15 minutes, all I get is the fan turning on and the Compressor kicking in for a few seconds - mostly less than 60 seconds at a time. Until sundown when it starts getting cooler again.
Who needs an Airconditioner when it's cool but not when it's hot?
Pros: Performance, Quality

Excellent Overall Design

I have purchased a LG LP1411SHR Portable Air Conditioner. Given that LG rhymes with quality and the best bang for the buck. The air flow is excellent on a low setting. The design is innovative for the vents to open up automatically to decrease dust accumulation. The touchpad settings are larger than is offered on the market. Finally, the installation was a breeze with the high quality grade plastics for the windows.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality

Great lil unit! running 24/7 since 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only time the unit has been off, is when the power goes out. Other than that, it runs 24/7 since 2014. The only thing we do is adjust the thermostat throughout the year based on weather outside.

know how to start before inserting the key

This is the biggest and best portable air conditioner on the market. the draw back is there is no current temp reading! Why? Because we really don't want to know what the temp is - we just want it where we can kick off our shoes - sip the drink and enjoy the atmosphere we've created.
Shadrack, meshack, and abedmego enjoyed the coolness of having the presents of Christ with them. I'm waiting for that day as well but will be content with my LG till then!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, angel on my shoulder, ice cube sitting by the ocean, box that changes everything, silver knight, toe warmer, cool and dry
