Noisy noisy noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for a few weeks and can’t stand the knocking noise it makes. It’s so loud it wakes me up at night. Called the repairman who said it was because of the energy efficiency and couldn’t do anything to fix it. It’s just so annoying!!!! Wish I could afford to get a different one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand that some sounds coming from your can be a little awkward. The evaporator can produce a knocking sound when the compressor initially comes on; while the refrigerant runs through the system. However, the sound does go away as it stabilizes.

Terrible refrigerator

sent week later. Same problem
Frigidare will not send replacement again
Frigidare is sending a repairmen

Repair coming Thursday

Repair is coming Thursday. Which means I have to take my time to have repair come to the house.
There is water at the inside bottom. Granted probably a plugged tube, but still......
Hope this doesn't indicate a forever problem.
The refrig has lots of bins. (Actually 3) which limits space for groceries. I removed the bottom two bins (which is how i discovered the flood at the bottom).

Lasted a little over a year.

I bought this a year and a half ago. From day one it made loud noises. At 20 months old it just stopped working. We went with Frigidaire because we trusted the name...not impressed.

Very quiet!

We just had our new fridge delivered yesterday and are quite impressed with it. The stainless steel is beautiful and this model was about the only one that would fit through our doorway into the kitchen, even though we had to remove the fridge doors. It fits perfectly into our spot and is a nice size at 18 cubic feet. After reading reviews on Frigidaire and other manufacturers about how loud and noisy the new refrigerators are, I wasn't looking forward to buying a new one. This model, FGTR1837TP is very quiet and doesn't run very long. It does make some clicking noises, but they aren't very loud and don't last long.
I wasn't thrilled with just the one thermostat control for both the fridge and the freezer, but I think that I have found the right setting. I recommend buying a refrigerator thermometer to monitor the temperatures in the fridge and freezer.
I don't understand why all the refrigerator manufacturers have gone to the one control thermostat.
The power cord should be 2-3 feet longer as I had to unplug the unit to move it out of its spot to put in the shelves and drawers. I will have to move it out of its spot to remove the shelves and drawers for cleaning. The power cord comes out of the bottom right corner.
The pull out drawers feel cheaply made and should be made of a heavier plastic. I think if they are dropped, they would crack easily. The plastic bars on the door shelves are also cheaply made. However, they meet the bottom of the shelf so that items will not drop out. You can also fit many items on the door shelves.
The light in the freezer is very bright. The light and thermostat control in the fridge is located in the top center, but near the rear of the fridge instead of the front, which is a good location. You don't have to worry about hitting it when putting items in, but a 2 liter soda bottle will not fit under it.
The wire rack in the freezer can be set to a lower height or one right in the middle of the freezer, which we prefer. It came positioned in the lower setting. It should come in the middle setting, as you can't fit much under it at the lower setting. However, it is very hard to remove from the four holes on the ends. It takes a good amount of strength, which may be difficult for a woman to do. A better design would be to have the shelf lay on a shelf holder, similar to the refrigerator shelves.
We have only had the new refrigerator for one day, but so far we like it and it is running well. I don't think it will last as long as our 25 year old previous one, but if we can get 10 years out of it, that will be good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Freezes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this two years ago and no matter how I set it up inside ,small shelf on top or bottom,everything on that shelf freezes. No matter what I set the temperature at. I’ve lost a lot of food due to this and have had numerous people from Frigidaire and Pride look at it and tell me nothing is wrong. I’m ready to call it quits and get a new fridge.Unfortunately I live in a condo and can’t have a bigger unit.
