The bottom shelf complaints are true

I bought both the Full Door Gear Box and the 3/4 Door Gear Box. The bottom shelf of the Full Door is fine. The bottom shelf of the 3/4 Door is a mess and must be manufactured wrong. There are threaded inserts sticking up into the bottom shelf and there is a 1" lip that any item will hit when removing. The bottom shelf is basically unusable. I don't know why they aren't sending out the same base as the Full Door Gearbox because this is ridiculous. You should avoid buying this modular gearbox unless you don't mind not having a bottom shelf.

What's with the bottom shelf??

Hi - we purchased and assembled this and once we were done we couldn't believe that the bottom shelf would have the caster screws sticking up into the cabinet. The floor also has a lip, rendering it unlevel and almost useless. None of the other models have this, why on earth would you do this? It's too much of a pain to return or else we would.

Bottom Shelf Manufacturing Defect - Upside Down!

Just received (qty 4) Hammered Granite cabinets (GAGB28KDYG) purchased in Feb 2022.
I’m extremely disappointed to discover the bottom shelf (P4) MANUFACTURING DEFECT has NOT been corrected to match the instruction manual (dated March19, 2021) which shows the smooth side facing up inside the cabinet.
As mentioned several times in these reviews, the bottom shelf of the 3/4 Door (P4) is a mess and was manufactured incorrectly and must be installed upside-down resulting with the threaded supports for either the wheels or leveling feet protruding UP into the cabinet and the smooth side facing the floor? See attached pictures.
The bottom shelf is unsightly and limits the amount of storage space. I own several Gladiator wall/storage cabinets and quality of this product does not match the rest of the items I own.
You should avoid buying this modular gearbox unless you don't mind not having a bottom shelf. I'm not pleased with this purchase.

Unusable Bottom Shelf

I have over 14 Gladiator units, and I purchased two additional units, I struggled with the bottom shelf as it did not look right. Following the instructions, I assembled the unit. I now have two useless bottom shelves. Also the drawer bottom shelf the screws protrude upward and the ends are inside. There is not a way to store anything without either putting holes in my item or only using a portion of the shelf and when you pull something out it will hit the lip on the shelf. Additionally this is a safety concern, as someone can stick their hand in the shelf and rip the skin off of their hand. Gladiator has always been my choice for my garage. I am very disappointed in this model and tells me that Gladiator has lost focus on their quality control. I hope they (Gladiator) take some pride and make it right for their customers. Safety should always be at the forefront of any products quality control.

Great products, except ...

Many outstanding Gladiator products in my garage over the past 20years except for the latest addition. The 3/4 drawer & shelves GearBox. After assembly the lower shelf appears to be up-side down making it unusable, surprised at the faulty design making the lower part useless. Additionally why does the drawer only open half way? My 2003 Gearboxes open all the way ...

Great except for bottom shelf

As other reviews stated bottom shelf is useless from faulty design. I’ve purchased many Gladiator cabinets over the years and this is he only one I was ever really disappointed with.

Bottom shelf is fabricated backwards

I like the cabinet a lot. Good quality with the exception the fabrication error on the bottom shelf. This is a pretty bad miss as the leveling feet won’t work and the bottom shelf isn’t flat. Given all the issues with this - it would be good to communicate with buyers and ship a correct part.
