The ultimate party pleaser!

So first off, the firebox setups for Dyna-Glo rigs are amazing. The charcoal basket & ash pan keep your fuel burning effectively for the whole cook. Next, the amount of space on this rig is phenomenal. I have had every rack occupied with dish for a party I was hosting and I cannot tell you how easy it made the cooking experience. This is easily the best vertical charcoal smoker you can get. I have had other rigs from other brands and i can say with confidence - I will not be switching ever again.

Christmas Present

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a Christmas present from my wife. Finally had time to open it and assemble it yesterday. The big smoker box has a dent on the door side with some missing paint and the firebox had some dents in the top if it as well. A lot of stuff to put into one box. Other than that........it went together well. I assembled it with the High Heat FDA Approved Silicone to prevent leakage and I'm letting it set for a few days before seasoning it. The chimney is a little odd as you can't close it off completely. I'm going to add 1 or 2 more thermostats to see if it will heat evenly. Hope it all works well as my wife and neighborhood really like it when I smoke meats. I share with the neighbors since they put up with all the smoke!

nice smoker, but there are a couple of things

I've used it a couple of times so far, and generally happy with it overall. The air intake on the fire box gets tight when the unit heats up and the sheet metal ears are not going to last (I'll replace them with a bolt and nuts. Then maybe some spacers on the screws holding the slide) I do wish the fire box was made out of a little heavier metal. The ash pan could move in and out with the fire tray.
The temp gauge leaks a little smoke, but to me that is not a big thing, now the gauge being off by 30 degrees is (I'll replace it with a digital ) The smoking chamber is good and has plenty of racks. The rib rack and the sausage hooks are a big plus. It could use some access for probe leads, but through the door seal works. The drip pan I did not use and replaced with a bucket on the ground under it.
With all this said I think it is a good smoker and I'll be happy with it. Should you buy one I hope you enjoy it as well.

Great Job

Just got my smoker and assembled it. No leaks at temp gauge, small leak at firebox door, but no biggie. It's the best smoker I've found. I do catering and I have a 12ft smoker... But nothing compares to this offset box that allows greater heat and flavor control. Overall it's great and I love it. Did 4 butts, 6 slabs of ribs, and some corn.

Bought this smoker for large gatherings that I'm cooking for. I've had 3 large briskets and 3 shoulders on this smoker at the same time it did a really nice job. Baby backs cook up really nice on this smoker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago and love it. Set up took about 30 min by myself, no problems. I read many reviews on this smoker, but decided not to put rtv between the two chambers. It's a smoker. Gonna smoke. Very little leakage, and really glad I didn't. Seasoned it the first night, and did 10 lbs leg quarters, and 10 lbs Boston butt the next day. Worked out great! Easy temp control and no problems.

Great Smoker for any skill level!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this smoker as a birthday gift and it is great! It took me about 30 minutes to assemble. I used high-temp, food-safe RTV sealant between the fire box and the smoke box, as well as on the thermometer and smoke stack connections. There was a slight gap between the smoke box walls and top. I used a bead of RTV to seal that off. There is just a small smoke leak at the top left corner of the fire box door, but nothing that will cause any issues.
On the seasoning burn, I filled the fire box container with charcoal as the instructions suggested. with this much coal, it was difficult to keep the temperature from going well above 300. I filled the box about half full with my first smoking run and it was perfect. I added cherry wood smoked a large salmon fillet. I could easily maintain 200 degrees for the entire smoking run. I have a digital remote thermometer to keep track from in the house and the built-in thermometer was accurate within 10 degrees. My second run was a rack of ribs and a whole chicken. The smoker maintained 225 degrees easily for 4 hours. I only had to add a little charcoal and wood once in the process. All food came out really well. I am more than pleased with this smoker.
I did line the bottom with aluminum foil and punched a hole in it for the drip pan. This makes clean up easier. The smoker racks are strong and very easy to clean.
I highly recommend this smoker for all levels. It has lots of room for cooking and has a good seal.
I also recommend the Dyna-Glo cover that is made for this smoker. The cover is a perfect fit and will keep it protected from the elements.
