Not quite "clear". A good product nonetheless.

I've been a fan of Otterbox products (since my first purchase of an original iPad 1st generation Otterbox defender) and the company itself, in my opinion, has excellent customer service. I usually purchase two of the cases (defender and commuter) and swap them depending on the circumstances and travel plans. This review of the Symmetry series case comes after I've tried the Defender series for the iPhone 7.
As the title suggests, the case is not crystal clear; the back, I would describe as cloudy and murky. I've a black iPhone 7, and the logo doesn't show up as much through the case as I had hoped. If you're looking for a protective clear case that showcases your phone, this may not be the product you're looking for. The defender series has an intentional circle around the apple logo which I quite like.
Speaking of protection, I've already (inadvertently) dropped the phone while on a treadmill. It fell from the center console, managed to roll off the belt and land unceremoniously on the floor. While not a true test (say, on concrete or pavement), the phone was unscathed and I'd say the Symmetry case did its job.
What I like most about the case is the 'raised' front, allowing you to place the phone face down on a surface, without much worry that the screen would get scratched. It also has a rougher texture which prevents it from sliding around.
The balance between smoothness and a rubbery feel is a tricky one but I found the case was just right; "grippy" enough to hold but neither sticky or too slippery.
In terms of style, my friend remarked how he liked the case (he's into fashion and trends) and I would agree. It's simple yet functional, offering sufficient protection without bulk, and easy to remove and install. My main gripe and perhaps unfounded fear is a discoloration ( i.e. yellowing) of the plastic, making the case look "cheap". It is probable that's just the way the product is; not exactly "clear" as advertised, however, offering superior Otterbox protection coupled with ease of removal/installation in a reasonably priced package is a winning combination.

It's not as clear as it looks in the pictures. It has a very noticeable cloudy tint to it that makes it hard to show off my red iPhone as I had hoped. The back cover is very prone to scratches, scuffs, and fingerprints. Two weeks after purchase and it's full of scratches on the back with normal use. The inside has very minimal soft rubber protection. The rubber cutouts are not very clean cut either, and the front lip is not even across the entire front. For some reason, the power button is very hard to press with this case. Lastly, there is no rubber on the back, making it slide across surfaces very easily. On the good side, the protection is very good, and it stays on the phone nicely.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this case about a week ago and love it! It has a very durable rubber/plastic feel which gives it grip so it isn't slippery. I love that it is clear and kind of gives the case a pearl look to the rose-gold color of my phone. It is thin and keeps my phone looking attractive.

Terrible!!! Yellowed after one month

I would give this ZERO stars if I could! My first Otterbox product and almost certainly the last. This case is alright, but it yellowed after only 1 month!! Such a waste of money!! Do NOT BUY!

The color was supposed to be clear. It is actually not so clear. It is like dirty clear. My phone looks like it has some cheap cover from china. I bought clear covers before and they are very shiny clear. This one is blury and my phone does not look nice at all
