Difficulty level is pretty high

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This roller coaster is very cool. My first impression was that it looks similar to the old building sets from the 80s. What I didn't realize, though, was that the pieces are tiny and you have to assemble some of them. Not an easy task for someone with big, clumsy fingers! I underestimated how time consuming this project would be, so I have only made progress on bulding the base, but I'm confident that I can get the rest built! The box says ages 8+ and I can't imagine building this with an 8 year old. Bring your patience! I'm currently frustrated as the instructions are unclear which way some of the pieces go, and now I have to disassemble some of it to figure out what's going on. As far as being a STEM toy, this definitely got my brain as well as my body active! Cool project if you have the time for it!

So fun and great for creativity!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is marketed for children, and my 5 and 8 year olds LOVE it, but unless your kids are SUPER detailed and responsible I would recommend that this be a wonderful family activity. The peices are mostly a spoke and wheel type as opposed to lego- like k'nex. This took us a few sessions to build but once it was complete the way my kids' faces lit up was so incredibly worth it. What makes it even better is that there are multiple ways to set up the track and it can climb up to 3 feet high so lots of room for creativity and learning about momentum and motion! It does need 2 AA batteries. You will have so much fun with this and so will your kids!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had fun trying to build this for many hours but it kept collapsing on me. It was a fun time but it was too hard for me after spending many hours on it.

A time and space commitment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this is a fine set for those who really love building, but it is a bit advanced and a big time commitment. I worked on it with my daughter and she lost interest in building it pretty quickly. There are over 700 pieces and I thought the labeling system and instruction manual were ok, but could get a little confusing. Especially with so many similarly shaped pieces and bags with mixed pieces. Also, it requires a good amount of space. So having a dedicated space to build and spread pieces is probably best. Especially, if one wants to take breaks from building, without putting the pieces away. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a dedicated space. And I have a small child, so leaving everything up/out was out of the question. We basically started building and quickly realized we wouldn’t have enough time and/or space to finish. Or a place to house the rollercoaster (out of reach of my toddler). So we needed to take it apart before finishing. Overall, I like the idea of this type of project but would probably enjoy something smaller and with fewer pieces for now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow how much fun this roller coaster is! Not only is it fun to play with but it is fun to put together. Challenging but fun. It does have step by step instructions that does help. It has twist, turns, and a huge hill that makes it that much funnier. The roller coaster is real working and stands really tall. It has motorized parts that are battery powered. It also provides hands on learning and provides hours of fun. Definitely recommend it.

Awesome product but maybe not for all kids.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this complimentary from influenster for testing and reviewing purposes. I think this is a fantastic S.T.E.M. activity and would probably be great for homeschooling. This product has lots and lots of pieces so I wouldn't recommend it for kids with attention or focus issues as they might lose interest before completion.

Meditative and fun for adults to put together
on October 29, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids and I were excited to put this roller coaster set together, but unfortunately it was a lot more difficult than we anticipated. The set is nicely boxed, and the colors of the pieces complement each other nicely and would give a cohesive, finished look when the set is completed. Sadly, we never finished building it. The instructions are nice in that they provide detailed step by step illustrations, but the tiny pieces that the instructions call for are packaged in plastic bags that are very confusingly labeled. The pieces themselves are given letter labels, but the bags the pieces are packaged in are labeled with numbers rather than numbers. To locate the bag that holds the piece you need, you have to refer to a chart to find the numbered bag that contains that piece. This gets tiresome when you have to track down so many pieces. Connecting the pieces together is slightly difficult, and makes for sore fingers. Although the box suggests ages eight and up, I believe this would be better suited for teenagers and older. I have found it meditative to build, but a child would become quickly frustrated. If you like building things like this, it’s a great set that would be exciting to put together alone or as a family with older kids. I imagine it would be really impressive when completed.

Difficult

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is really neat! My son loves to build legos and do puzzles often, I thought this would be a nice change from what he usually picks. The idea of this is great but I don’t think it is 8+, the instructions are very convoluted and difficult to follow. I was really looking forward to this for my kiddo but it was more frustrating than enjoyable for everyone.
