Great for older kods

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loved this!!! Sometimes it required two sets of hands which could frustrate some but it is a great overall design. The directions are easy. My so. Loved building it and his little sister loved watching it run.

Difficult instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was interesting to build with my 6 year old but honestly the instructions were vague and hard to follow once you got to where you are supposed to add the track supports and track. I consider myself to be intermediate level in following instructions and building toys but this one i could not figure out to get the track to sit right. Which was disappointing since my daughter was really excited to play with it.

Good product to encourage creativity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received FAO Schwarz Build-a-coaster and here are my initial thoughts:
-The concept of building a custom coaster is neat since it encourages kids and adults to use their creativity and build something unique.
- I personally feel the age listed for the product (8+) might not correspond to that group age because the way the instructions are set can be a bit confusing. The bags containing the pieces are labeled with numbers but the instructions refer most parts as letters, so even for me (as adult) I had to review the steps to make sure I had the correct piece. Maybe if the instructions were written differently, it would be easier for kids to do on their own.
- As for the quality, in my opinion the plastic pieces feel on the basic side, not very sturdy so have to be careful and not use much force that could break the pieces, especially the parts that are flexible to create the curves for the coaster.
Overall, I think it’s a fun product to put together but in my opinion, I don’t think it would be the toy that kids would be engaged in the long run. I had my neighbors’ kids (ages 10 and 11) to play with the coaster but they lost interest quickly, they thought it was cool at first but after seeing the coaster in action for 3 times they were satisfied.

Best gift for my 7 years old
