Interesting globe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was definitely fun being able to show my kids how far their granny lives from us - somehow a globe really expresses distance in a way that digital maps just don’t.
I was excited for the night mode - and then sad to discover it doesn’t shine bright enough to show the constellations on the wall, but you can see them on the globe itself. Still cool, just not what I thought it would be, and not even quite bright enough for a night light which is how we hoped to use it.
Still a solid educational toy and would recommend for that alone

Its a dual teaching product for my kids, a classic globe that they can use in the light and they can learn the constellations in the dark. The only thing I might suggest is finding a way to make it charge with solar power instead of having to be plugged in or have batteries since it already has a light sensor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is really an amazing world globe. It lights up! Even my husband was impressed. Saying he wished these were available when we were in school, it would have made it more interesting! I completely agree. My 14 year old son is going to love it!

Little disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a family that travels a lot and have relatives that live in so many countries, I was very excited to receive this globe to show my kids (3 and 6 yrs old) where we had traveled and where they all live. But it ended up being a little disappointing. Let's start with pros: I like the idea of a globe for kids, it's a great resource for learning. The globe shows countries, capitals, and other major cities. For US and Canada it also has names of states. When it's dark enough the globe will glow and show constellations, another opportunity to learn and also can be used as a night light. Cons: I wish it would spin smoothly, but my biggest problem with the globe is that between 15° and 0 the proportions aren't equal on both sides of Equador line, and it makes counties in this area look disproportionate. Other sad thing is that many countries are colored in blue, making they look like lakes/seas. That's so basic.. you don't color countries with the same color as water. If I had bought it I would return it and exchange for something more precise to teach my kids.

Not in tune with night and day

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a neat concept except it isn’t. The light goes off with any indication of other light around. It flashes with the TV. It’s not a smooth transition. Light needs to be brighter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Educational Earth Globe is good for those kids who loves it study geography. During the day the light is off. During the night the color-changing LED lights are both educational and decorative, and can be used as a night light, displayed in your childs room. The globes built-in automatic sensor detects darkness. You can plug in the wall or use batteries. I thought it was a more interactive toy but the only thing is that the light turns on at night.
