Versatile and reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this multi cooker for just over a year. I've used most of the features and it performs flawlessly. I'm currently waiting for delivery of the stir tower. I'm sure that will make me love this even more. Originally, I was just wanting a slow cooker. This beats any slow cooker hands down. My wife has been tempted to toss out the old slow cooker, but we keep it for when we need to do multiple dishes when we entertain. If you're thinking on this multi cooker, just get one.. well worth the money, in fact it's a bargain for what it does so well.

I bought my 4-Quart multi-cooker with the stirring tower on QVC. I have used it to cook beans, a beef roast with carrots and potatoes and chili. Well, I love it!, I’m a widow, living alone, it’s a perfect size for me. Lastly, I have gotten so many compliments and even a few “Can I borrow your cooker”
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cheap finish on removeable pot

The second one I purchased has the same problem the first one had. The finish on the removeable pot comes off along the rim. I have used this two times and there is a few areas showing the silver which should be covered with the nonstick coating. Cheap coating. What has happened to KitchenAid? I will look for a better brand.

I purchased this when my other Crockpot gave out. I started out with the intention of purchasing an All Clad, but became intrigued with this Kitchenaid product. I ultimately chose the multicooker because of the increased functionality. I have only utilized the rice and slow cooker functions at this point, and both worked like a charm. I do love the visual design and the fact I can leave it on the counter. I intend to purchase the stir tower in the near future. I have not experienced any bowl lining flaking. I do only hand wash and only use silicone tools.

This is a high priced gadget not for an experienced cook. It can do many things, but an experienced cook can do all of these things in less time and less need for attention. The searing option only allows for 4 oz. of meat or vegetables at a time. Why take the extra time to sear multiple batches for soup or stew when that can be done on your skillet or cast iron grill? The mechanical spoon mechanism is LOUD! The extra steps needed to use this appliance eliminates its usefulness. If you want a rice cooker, buy one. If you want a risotto maker, buy one. If you need to sear, buy a skillet. Do not buy this ill-equipped gadget.

Used once. Slow cooked a pork shoulder with a few powdered spices and now the thing reeks over a week later. Seems like its smelling more and more each day too. Immediately after making the pork shoulder I properly soaked the black pot insert and washed it generously with dish soap to ensure everything off. What gives. Is this a ploy to make people buy replacement parts?
