First off all, don't consider getting this without getting the stir tower. This appliance should automatically come with the stir tower-no sense in getting it without that feature.
I am now cooking things I never wanted to make because of the time involved or the need for constant stirring. The ability to control the temperature is a huge plus as well. No more guessing. This keeps steel- cut oatmeal from boiling over and makes perfect gourmet Mac and Cheese. Risotto is a breeze, soups and chili so easy and no splattering when searing meats. Only had it for 2 weeks and have used it almost every day. I now have withdrawals when I'm not cooking with the multi-cooker. LOVE this appliance!

Non-Stick Simplicity with Sophisticated Taste

I recommended this cooking treasure to a "foodie" friend who promptly purchased one for herself and gifted another to me. I love the cooking features and plan to expand "the family" by investing in the auto stirrer for risotto cooking and other. Only issue so far is a more direct method for manual override (without timing out or turning off the cooker!) to ensure proper simmer temperatures are achieved depending on the type of recipe used. I found that the auto simmer temperature was not hot enough for my Bolognese sauce. I do wish there was a more extensive Kitchen Aid cookbook available for use with multi-cooker specific recipes. I am sure I will figure it out, this is a great product.

More useful than expected

My husband had wanted us to purchase this but I balked as I wasn't quite sure how useful it would be (the lack of reviews and of documentation - such as cookbooks/recipes/suggestions - really hurt this product). But since buying it last month I have used it more than I would have thought possible. Part of that is due to our stove being inoperative at present, so finding just how useful this is (steaming veggies, making soups, slow cooking roasts, making rice...I'm about to see how it heats up frozen break shortly). The only thing I'm not finding to work is getting it to switch from one setting of a multi-setting option (such as soup) and not understanding why the temperature blinks after it reaches the level until I re-press the 'start' button (documentation for this machine is woefully inadequate - and I never got the cookbook that was promised upon registering...luckily I found it elsewhere online)
