best bang for your dollar

this player still has a actual power cord decent size remote and some weight now to the good stuff
dvd upscaling very good you would think you’re watching a blu-ray
blu-ray very top notch playback which this player excells at
4k outstanding on uhd tv
audio from dd 5.1 to dts hd all excellent you would think your system had a upgrade
bad news only netflix and you tube which is redundant cause every tv has a slew of streaming options
this player you are paying for no frills audio and video performance

Solid player, still no Dolby Vision

Solid 4k player. Just disappointing, been waiting almost a year for the Dolby Vision update. Picked this particular player because it was supposedly "Dolby Vision Ready". It was supposed to be in 2017, now stated as first quarter of 2018, yet still no update...

Love the clarity of the color on the movies. It also make regular DVD movies look better than before. I like the slim cabinet making it easier to fit it into smaller spaces.

Great 4k player for the price. Waiting on Dolby vision

The set up menu could use some work as I find it to be unintuitive.
I use both HDMI ports. One to TV one to receiver. Tv displays that 4k hdr is working as expected. I have experience some issues with the audio being out of sync. I am able to cycle HDMI on receiver and this puts it back in sync. I can't say if player or reciever is issue.
Player runs quiet and looks well built.
Still waiting on DV support. Only have a couple of discs with DV but would like to use this feature.
Pros: design, dv support, extra hdmi for audio
Cons: menu system, delayed dv support

Purchased two of these Philips players for two different rooms and both have performed well. Bought to get HDR and Dolby Vision playback as well as Atmos audio.
Haven't had any issues playing any disc to this point. Well, I did have a problem with one disc but it turned out it was my fault - lots of fingerprints on the disc. Once cleaned it played flawlessly.
One recommendation for improvement - please make the eject button on the remote easier to find. Poorly located and button too small.
Pros: new video and audio formats work well
Cons: relocate and enlarge the eject button on remote

Finally updated to support Dolby Vision

Purchased before Dolby Vision firmware was available, thank goodness it was finally released. Looks really basic, but does everything I need, now that Dolby Vision is supported. No problems in almost 2 years of playing DVD, Blu-ray and UHD disks.
