I've owned all 3 V series phones. I'm still a big fan of the V20 because it felt more rugged. The V30 has a flawless design. It is smaller than its predecessor. It's hard to give it 5 stars because I don't see many of the features being much better than the V20. The floating bar was a good idea, but the tab can be in the way sometimes. The camera is nice but I don't many of its features. I also miss the removable battery. Good overall phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My LG V30 is my media powerhouse. The DAC is the best in a smartphone and I love listening to my music on this phone. It has expandable storage, which is a major plus, a headphone jack, one of my favorite specs a wide angle camera I never get tired of using it. Although it's not as resilient as my V20, I do like the new design. The fact that the v series now supports google daydream is icing on the cake. I cant wait to see what the v40 will be like.

ALMOST the perfect phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the V30 for about two months. PROS: it's gorgeous! The prettiest phone on the market, IMO. The bezels/screen are ideally sized. The fingerprint scanner is the best I've used -- immediate and almost never misses. It has a headphone jack! It's IP68 rated for dust/water. Audio sounds great through headphones -- and lots of customization options. Lots of video/camera options (that I don't use, honestly). Takes decent photos. Nice and snappy. Phone calls sound fantastic on Verizon, and I never drop a call. Battery life has been great! Cool always-on display. CONS: LTE reception is spotty and unreliable in buildings -- not terrible, but not great. Bluetooth is similar -- lots of annoying brief cutouts in the music (and I'm using top-rated BT headphones). The touchscreen sensitivity is sketchy. I sometimes have to touch something two or three times to get it to register -- especially near the edges of the screen. The screen itself is... so-so: it definitely turns noticeably blue if you look at it from more than a five-degree angle; I could see image retention or burn-in on the menu buttons after just a couple of days; and some darker images can be muddy and lose detail. The auto-brightness is also not very usable -- it never seems to properly match the environment. BUT... ultimately, all the cons are minor annoyances. I don't notice most of them very much during day-to-day use -- only in certain circumstances. No phone is perfect, and the pros significantly outweigh the cons in this device. I feel comfortable saying I'll happily hold on to it for at least two years.

Without a case the phone does not feel fragile. My battery usually lasts longer than my 12 hour day. Overall this phone has made me a fan of LG.
