[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Going on 3 weeks now with my LG V30 and my significant other and I our extremely pleased with our purchase so far. This is my 2nd LG phone I have owned. The first was the LG Vortex.
Needless to say when I purchase an LG product I know I am going to purchase reliable equipment I can count on.
Thank you!

Very Nice Phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the time I’m writing this review, I’ve had my LG V-30 phone for 5 weeks and I’m very satisfied with its features and performance.
Increased Viewing Area – Compared to my older cell phone that has almost identical physical dimensions, the V-30 has a larger viewing area (6.0” vs 5.5”). The V-30’s metal frame and black boarders along the sides and above and below the screen are smaller than on my older phone. This leaves space for a larger viewing screen. Also, the V-30 uses software buttons for “Back”, “Home” and “Recently Used Apps”. My older phone had dedicated buttons below the screen image. By using software buttons, the V-30’s operating system and apps have the option of showing the buttons continuously on the screen or having them fade away when not in use. This allows things such as photos, videos and games to use almost all of the front of the phone for viewing area.
Rounded Glass – Like many of the newer phones offered by other manufacturers, the V-30 has rounded glass along the sides and along the top and bottom of the screen. On the V-30, the rounded glass does not extend all the way to the edges of the phone; there is a small amount of metal frame that extends beyond the glass. This gives the screen some protection if you bump the edge of the phone against something hard. However, to me, the rounded glass seems to be a weakness in the design, in that, it looks like the glass would be very susceptible to damage if you dropped the phone on its face. The first thing I did after buying the phone was to purchase a protective rubberized frame for it. The V-30 was still new enough that only a few companies offered protectors for this model phone. I bought a Spigen Neo Hibrid for LG V-30 Satin Silver protector. It fits perfectly and looks good on the phone.
Water and Dust Proof – I keep my phone with me when working outdoors in dusty/dirty conditions. So, a water and dust proof design was important to me. The V-30 specs say that it has been designed and tested with an IP-68 rating. This means that the V-30 has been tested to withstand specific, harsh dust and water infiltration conditions.
Screen Surface Protection – I was concerned about the V30’s screen being able to resist scratching from dirt and dust. When I bought the phone, it was newly released and screen protector companies did not offer shaped glass protectors that fit the V-30. The people at the Verizon store suggested that I use a liquid coating that is supposed to protect the screen from scratches and even from damage if you drop the phone. The coating is called Qmadix Invisible First Defense + NanoGlass Screen Protector. So that is what have on my screen now.
Touch Screen Performance – The screen seems to respond well to touch. No problems so far.
On/OFF Control – The V-30 has the on/off button on the back of the phone below the camera (instead of on the side near the volume buttons where my older phone has its on/off button). The V-30’s on/off button location works well for me.
Audio Quality – I don’t use my phone for listening to music so I can’t comment on that. But the voice volume and quality for phone calls is good on both ends of the conversation.
Battery Life – Battery life on my V-30 seems pretty good so far. My experience has been that, 24 hours after fully charging the phone, the battery level usually shows somewhere between 70 and 80% battery remaining. To put that in context: I am not a heavy phone user. My phone is set for WiFi On, BlueTooth Off, and GPS High Accuracy Location On. I have my screen set to time out after being idle for 2 minutes. My primary email account is set to update every 5 minutes, I have three other email accounts set to update every 15 minutes. I think all other settings are whatever came default.
Price – The V-30’s price was above my preferred price range, but it had all the features I was looking for and it has the latest processor, software, RAM, etc. Also, LG (or Verizon) offered a cash rebate and several other promotional deals that made the price more palatable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this phone for almost 2 months. Not a huge fan. It looks good but has a lot of issues. The screen dims and blinks randomly. The call quality is awful on both sides of the phone call. I honestly regret leaving samsung.

Still not 100% over the V20 yet...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] About two months of good, hard use into my V20 after switching from a V20 which served me faithfully for over a year, I'm not having as much luck with the V30 - it's very 'glitchy'. The recent software update did nothing to correct these idiosyncrasies.
I'm going to do a hard reset tonite, hoping that will correct these issues. If not, I'll have to get a warranty replacement and hope it's just this particular unit, not the V30s themselves.
*fingers crossed*

No Wifi Calling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Very little bloatware. Flawlessly works with Google assistant
Cons: Built in voice detection (not ok google, but v30's) seems kind of pointless since all it does is unlock. No WIFI/VoLTE on this version. I roam between Canada and US a lot. This was a HUGE letdown. Still considering returning it while I have the chance.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great phone but no Ant+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There IS a lot to like about this phone. It is nearly brilliant but for the price I have some gripes:
1) No Ant+ radio capability. Seriously - in a phone of this price? Am I supposed to go and replce my cycles speed and cadence sensors because, even though the phones SoC supports it you don't provide the drivers? The competition does.
2) I like not having a physical button. It means you can turn the phone upside down so the headphone socket is at the bottom - but you need a third party App to force the phone to do it. Bizarre.
3) Glass backs lootk good - but they break. Boring old ABS plastic would do me fine. It's covers in a case anyway most of the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
