THREE STARS - One for Each Year the Old One Lasted

I'm stuck with these because they are the only unit that fits the sleeve in my apartment window. They are fine as long as they are working but I highly recommend an extended warranty because they don't last more than a few years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent cooling for the price

What I really like about this unit is the power and how effciently it cools down the living space. My electricity bills don't suffer too much when I have this guy on. The only bad thing is the energy efficient design which uses the dehumidified water as a coolant on the evaporator coils. In one summer, the coils have corroded due to being submerged in the water. Wish I could drill a hole to drain the base but I don't want to void the warranty. Last one I bought had a busted compressor and it was replaced by this similar model. Hope this one lasts!!

I bought 4 units in the last 6 months seem to be good product but first unit went down with a bad compressor hard for repairs to be made parts are hard to find been in shop 2 1/2 weeks still under warranty Hope better luck on other units

Is something missing?

The a/c is in a wall sleeve about a foot below the ceiling, so I can't see the control panel readily. The unit works very well, and cools the apartment, but I can't find anything on the control panel or in the instruction booklet, on how to turn off the air exchange. My old a/c had a switch on the control panel, to close the air exchange when the unit wasn't in use. Now I wonder if the new a/c's air exchange can be closed at all, or if it's open to all weather, insects, etc. It gets cold here in the winter.
