2nd GE Microwave to fail in 9 years.

Replaced previous microwave that failed after 7 years with this one. Now this panel is beginning to have the same issues as previous microwave after only 2 years. We rarely ever use our microwaves. We heat water in them a few times a week. They fail not from use but they are not designed well. Heat from the stove causes the electric panel to fail. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THESE MICROWAVES! They say they are designed to go over a stove but they are not. And they do not stand behind their poor design when the product fails.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The new GE Café Series microwave replaced an older unit that was 12 years old. The upgrade of technology is outstanding. Our new CAFE runs perfectly, with all of the power and time objects working together to make cooking and processing a snap.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Although this microwave is overall awesome, I have to share that my favorite option is that I can steam clean the microwave whenever I want! I appreciate having the ability to ensure that the microwave is always clean, and no one will end up ingesting needless germs. Thank you!!!

Microwave Died after 1 yr. and 6 mo.

The microwave has been problematic since new. Now completely dead. We built a new house and installed a complete GE appliance package. So far, all the others are okay, just the microwave is no good. Made in April, '18, installed Jan., '19, we moved-in in May-June of '19... So, it lasted approx. 1 yr. and 6 mo. ...The "Limited Warranty" is only 1 yr.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had to replace the magnetron 7 times now. Thankfully I bought the 5 yr extended warranty. This is a piece of junk.

Sensor not working after 3 years

Unfortunately, I am not happy with my Cafe appliance purchase. I bought them in 2019 and the microwave and dishwasher are already having problems. The microwave popcorn button does not work any more. The sensor light comes on before its cooked so I have to use the cook button only. The dishwasher display has also stopped working. Now, I have to guess what setting it's on. The freezer ice bucket frequently gets all clogged up and the ice freezes together until you empty the bucket. This also causes the ice shute to get clogged which needs to be cleaned out as well. You cannot use the temperature probe in the oven because when you go to remove it, it breaks off!!! This has happened twice (the only two times I've used it and once on my daughter's GE oven. It's ridiculous. For what I paid for these appliances, these things should not have happened. Doesn't look like GE is going to stand behind their appliances either unless you purchase an extended warranty. My last set of GE.
