Thought this Sony boombox would last longer then the cheaper ones I had in the past but the same problem happened. I listen to books on cd's because of eye problem. The sound is great, nice looking item. Eventually when placing a clean cd the boombox said NO CD. No matter which cd I tried I got the same message. The cd's played in other players but not this one. This part of the boombox is not warrantied. Now I have a boombox that only plays tapes and radio. For the price and life of the boombox cd player I I might as well buy 2 cheaper machines which would last longer. Also, I would like to know why put black buttons on a black cabinet making them harder to read.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this device a few years ago. With little use and just over 30 days it did not work at all. (I do not recall the problem as it was so long ago but I think it would not turn on.) I sent it back to Sony and received this current boombox. Again, with little use (I am not home a lot), and within about six months, I had a new issue. This time, the display indicated "noCD". Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Sometimes it works for some songs on a CD but not others. Sometimes it will work if I put in a different CD - but not always. I did not bother sending it in as having received two lemons I no longer have confidence in the company and will look elsewhere for a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We received this Boombox yesterday and I immediately had to check it out. The sound quality is incredible for such a compact design. We currently have a Sony ZS-H10CP, which delivers awesome sound quality but is bulky and at 20" wide and over 7 pounds, is heavy for my wife to carry (she is 5'0" and 100 lbs.) to the outdoor pool exercise classes she teaches (I have attached a picture). This new model is absolutely PERFECT for her. I was amazed at the quality of the highs and the fullness of the lows when the Mega Bass feature is on. Great Job Sony!!!

I bought this unit to replace my old unit that finally died. For months all was perfect. Two weeks ago it would not turn on. Now I need to press the power button repeatedly to finally get it to come on. But all you have to do is slightly touch the power button to turn off.

This sounds SO much better than what I was playing CDs & cassettes on before. I'm quite happy that it broke & I was forced to buy a new one. At least I had sense enough to buy a Sony one this time!
