poor quality construction

The overall plastic configuration for tape and access doors makes the product unlikely to last more than a few months.
Why Sony would put it's branding on this package is the big question. I could see a third-party branding for $49.95 but NOT $100. CAD

After 8 months it will only play a cd for 30 seconds and tells me I need to load a cd. It won't even play a cassette any longer. A lot of whirring noises etc. but nothing happening.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sony CFD-570 portable CD boombox

While the sound is acceptable, this unit does not do a good job in acquiring radio stations. Also, the buttons are the same colour as the unit, making them difficult to see and it has no remote control.
Had this not been needed during a COVID lockdown, a different model would have been preferred.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit is not for the vision impaired person! The button should be in a noticeable color! However, it works well.
