I absolutely LOVE the FoodSaver FM3620! It's profile is very shallow so it fits neatly on my counter top; I barely notice it's there. (I have a micro sized kitchen) It's so handy not having to pull it out of a cabinet every time I want to use it! This unit is light weight enough, that if you do keep it in a cabinet, it's not a pain to pull it out. Following FoodSaver's instructions to the letter, this unit operates perfectly. I wait a few moments between seals and make sure the drip tray and sealing strip stay's dry when I'm sealing large batches of food. Meats I freeze in FoodSaver bags without a doubt last longer in the freezer compared to using traditional zip lock bags. I put up an entire case of chicken parts 6 months ago, and the chicken we use now is as "fresh" as the first portion we used. This model has a button to stop the vacuum as needed (for delicate foods) and go straight to sealing. I'm very pleased with my purchase. All my friends have FoodSavers, some models lower than this... and some "Cadillac" models, and they all love them too. These guys are avid gamesmen and put up A LOT of food! In my opinion, Hunters and Fisherman should go with a beefier unit, it definitely worth the extra cost. Any sealing issues we've encountered have been due to not keeping the sealing edge of the bag, the sealing strip or the drip tray dry as is recommended in the instructions.

Very Disappointed!

I heard great reviews from people on the Foodsavers. So I thought I would splurge and purchase one during the Holidays. I used it once and it worked great. Did not use it for a week. Went to use it and it does not vacuum or seal.

Bought mine back in the middle of July, used it a few times, worked fine and now won't turn on. Had a previous model for a year and the latch on the handle that locks it broke. Couldn't return that one because it was just past the warranty, will be returning this one. Might be trying a different brand.

I just purchased this and right out of the box it doesn't work. The indicator light does not come on. The lever on the side which has "open, store, on" won't even turn to the ON position. Extremely disappointed since I just purchased a lot of meat to freeze.

unit does not seal bags well. Takes up to 10 cycles to finally seal. seal. You can watch the bags start to re inflate after sealing process has completed. Bag seal spotty. Also, moister can be viewed within the seal area. I will be returning rhis product and seek another manufacture.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We recommend that you always flash freeze meat/fish, fruits/veggies, and freeze sauce/soup solid before vac/seal because moisture will compromise the seal and can compromise the integrity of the FoodSaver altogether. Flash freeze just means you're going to put it in your freezer long enough for the outside to become solid before you vacuum seal it. This will lock the moisture in your meat and keep the FoodSaver itself from vacuuming out all the moisture and deeming it unable to seal the bags properly. This information is located under 'Food Preparation and Reheating Tips' in every FoodSaver manual.

Recieved one of the first model food savers for Christmas years ago and never had any problems! Still works to this day! Bought this model and my first time using it (I use it to vacuum seal fruits and vegetables), it would not burn the seal and air comes rushing back in. Very frustrating.
