Great for Safety - Poor for Presentation

First and foremost, this tool is 100% a much safer option for slicing avocado than a knife, which is really important and I would give it 5 Starts for Safety if I could. The only "sharp" hazard would really be the tip of plastic and the metal to remove the pit.
As for presentation and ease of use: If you are looking for ~fancy~ sliced avocado this tool is not for you (unless you can figure out how to do it). I found the slicer made mushy slices and was a little clumsy with my slightly small Haas avocado. There is a bit of a learning curve with the slicer. The slicer to open the avocado is self explanatory, however the pit remover takes a little learning. Once I figured it out I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was.
Cleaning: The smooth plastic is fairly easy to clean. HOWEVER, the package stated it was dishwasher safe... well mine MELTED!!! I would hand wash to be on the safe side.
My potential uses for the slicer: for my 13-year-old son, packing in my lunch bag for work, pit removal when using a knife, making guacamole (or anything where presentation of slices doesn't matter)

Perfect for Pits

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Avocado injuries are on the rise, and this is your solution. This tool was super easy and intuitive to use right out of the package. I've used it several times from making guacamole to simply slicing up an avocado as a topping. I'm pretty good with my knives and slicing my way through an avocado, so due to that I'm not sure this is an essential tool in my kitchen and necessary for home cooks. However, I keep reaching for it for two main reasons: it is much easier and I'm way less likely to cut myself when removing the pit from an avocado, and I can throw it in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Pit removal alone is why I'm keeping this around. It works great on that elusive perfect avocado. It's a little more resistant on an avocado that is less ripe, but still worked each time. Is this for you? This would be awesome for allowing avocado-loving kids some more autonomy in the kitchen, and it's great if you're prone to accidentally cutting yourself in your prep. This tool is definitely a one-hit wonder though, so if space and minimalism is important to you, this probably isn't a winner for you.

I love this avocado sliced! It’s serrated on one side to cut open the avocado, then you use the prongs to grab the pit and it’s so genius there is a hole to poke your finger through to release the avocado pit, next you scoop it out with the scooper! Highly recommend.

Does exactly what it's built to do

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love avocados and have always used the knife/spoon method for eating them. But after a recent knife to the pit miss that almost sent me to the emergency room.....I fugured it was time to give this tool a try.
I LOVE it, the cutting edge really does cut easily through the skin, the pit remover is so much safer and the scoop end works okay.
The only small complaint it have is the the scoop end doesn't cut cleanly, so if I was cutting avocado for presentation, I think I will still use a knife and spoon.

I never knew there was a tool to easily cut , pit and clean up do well until my friend turned me on to it. I use it about four days a week for a year snd a half. Still works great to this day. I would highly recomend

You guys! This is a game changer. We have an avocado tree so our family eats a lot of avocados. I can use this one tool to cut the avocado while it’s in my hand without worrying that I’m going to slice through my hand, remove the pit and scoop out the fruit all without having to switch from a knife, to a spoon, to a knife/fork to do all of these things. Highly recommended.

This tool is amazing! With two small children, I cut up avocados frequently. This makes it SO FAST. Like 30 seconds from fridge to plate. And, I don’t run the risk of slicing my hand. Don’t even think about it—YOU NEED THIS TOOL.

This makes opening, taking the seed out and cutting the avocado super easy. After using this I can make my avocado toast spread very easy because of this tool.
