I'm in my mid 50s and have tried several types and brands of electric shavers over the past 35 years. Some have been better than others but have always irritated my skin and left my neck broken out. This one is different. While it initially seemed like it might do the same, after about a week and a half my shaves are smooth and easy. For keeping my neck (and cheekbone area) clean while maintaining a full beard, it's working out great. At first I thought it was running underpowered or slow but it's just quiet. It does a great job.
Pros: charges quickly & lasts quite a while on 1 charge, nice close shave, no skin irritation like other electrics i've tried
Cons: it's a bit on the expensive side but worth it

One thing I don't like - it's a trimmer. I think it should be build in, exactly like designed an old style Philips shavers.

I got a Norelco electric shaver in 1957 for graduation from high school. What an advancement in 62 years. Through the years I have tried to replace my shavers with the latest model. At times I could not really identify much change. Then I read customer reviews on the Star Wars model and decided to try it. Bingo! It is the very best model I have used in my 62 years of shaving with Norelco. I truly enjoy the Turbo feature because now I do not necessarily shave every day and this things still mows ‘me down. Thank you Philips-Norelco.

Best Shaver I Ever Had

When I first received this shaver I thought I was sent a used model as the paint was worn on the handle. Turns out this was by design so don't fret.
The instructions said that it may take up to 20 days to get a good shave as the face/skin has to get use to the shaver. This turned out to be not true as I got a great shave after the first shave. Felt just like a razor shave. But typically you get this from most shavers so this wasn't a new experience. What was new is that while most shavers give a good shave for about a month and then start to go down hill as far as closeness this shaver is still performing great after seven months. Clean and very smooth shave so this was/is impressive.
The trimmer is easy to attach and does a good job. It would be nice if this were part of the shaver so one doesn't have to keep it separately but given that you only use this once in a while it is a minor inconvenience.
Ergonomics is for the most part good with one exception and that is where the on/off button is located. This may just be me as to how I hold a shaver but my thumb all too often presses on the button and turns it off. The second negative is that IF the battery runs out and you have to plug it in you can't shave when the unit is charging. The shaver display shows the state of charge so once it shows red recharge the batteries as if the shaver stops in the middle of a shave you can't run it while charging.
These two are minor issues but I would like to see them changed on future shavers.
All in all I'm impressed as while all my previous electric shavers gave a so-so shave the Star Wars is definitely a step above the rest.

While it looks like it's been used by multiple generations of Star Warriors, this shaver is the best I've ever had. I've had two other Norelco shavers but this is the first one for me that can be used on a wet face. It has produced very impressive results. I use a shave gel, if that helps describe why I'm getting such a smooth and effective shave. If I can help it, I will never use a razor again.

So let me preface this with "nothing is perfect"
That said, this is a very good electric shaver in the price range.
My biggest complaint is the trimmer detachment. Call it lazy if you wish but tracking it down and switching mid shave is not as convenient as the flip up attached trimmer.

This shaver is the easiest to clean by far! Read up on the warnings so your expectations are just right. You absolutely need to allow your face to get used to it before you can/ should make a valid judgement.
As far as the shave goes, I am satisfied. It's about as good as my last $35.00 shaver.
Why did I change? At 5 years that old thing couldn't hold a charge long enough to finish the job and now they don't make them anymore.
