The French doors really make this oven a splendor to look at and make it so much easier to access items in the top oven. The ovens make the whole kitchen modern and updated. But, it is not just beautiful to behold, the ovens work wonderfully. I am very pleased.
The only thing I have to say about this double wall oven that would be kind of negative is that the glass between the outer and inner glass was not as clean as I thought it should be for a high end appliance. After buying a different double wall oven when I remodeled my kitchen, I was so disappointed with it I started looking for something to replace it...lo and behold this was a much better fit for my kitchen and me....I fell in love with this oven the minute it was installed...I enjoy cooking again. Being 5'3", the french doors on the top is a necessity since I had trouble getting the hot dishes out of my other oven. Also both ovens offered the convection feature that I need. My husband and I are both extremely happy with our new GE Cafe Series Double Wall oven.
My first convection oven and I absolutely love it. Made my first gluten free cake in it yesterday and it baked so much more evenly! I will say I'm not real thrilled with the remote aspect of it using Alexa. If I use that feature think it will be better using the GE app. Overall love the look and features. Also, hubby was pleasantly surprised it was easier to install than he thought it would be. However, it was extremely heavy and he and son-in-law had a little difficulty lifting.
It really is so convenient - and easy - to open the upper doors. (All ovens should have this feature!) The ovens are noisy, though, when warming up and cooling down. The timers and temperature probes are a bit fussy - takes time to learn how to use them. Well, OK, we've given up trying to use the probes. Inserting one and an older, trusted temp probe at the same time, same place in a roast, show very different results. My complaint is that the shelves cause us frustration every time we need to remove one and then put it back in. Nothing easy about it. By the way, we're not novices; been in the kitchen together for 50 years, and we've used many ovens. The French doors are the primary selling feature.
