Runs too hot & grill tops harder to clean stovetop

In our small space, this oven heats up everything each time the oven heats itself - the heat comes into the kitchen from the broiler area and makes it very hot and uncomfortable to be in there. HATE IT! Since we ordered it online from the store without seeing it, we didn't realize it was a bottom drawer broiler unit - will NEVER buy one like this again. Also, the bottom broiler does not leave any room to use a cast iron skillet to top broil/melt something - it is too narrow so it is pretty useless - and bending all the way over to try to use it is not good if you have a bad back or are getting older. They shouldn't even make a bottom drawer broiler!!! Then the grill top - that covers the whole top, gets hot when the oven is used or even one burner - so we'd rather of had the single burner style like we used to have - don't know why they are all switching to this style - we aren't a restaurant. It also makes it harder to do a quick wipe up since you have to move half of the heavy big grill just to wipe up a few crumbs. Also - if you just want to increase the temperature a little in the oven, you have to turn it off and reset the temp and turn it on again - stupid. The oven seems to run a bit hot - so we lower the temp about 10+ degrees and really watch the time an item is in the oven to not overcook. So, if we had seen this in person first, we would not have bought this unit. But we were rushed into buying all new appliances for our new condo, and couldn't take the time we usually do when just buying one new replacement appliance only. This unit is not for us - if you like bottom broilers, can bend all the way to the floor to use it, don't mind all the heat coming into the kitchen (especially awful on a hot day), and having to move a huge grill to just do a quick wipe up - then buy it, but if not, get something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE 30 in Freestanding Range

Beautiful and functional. Broiler is in the bottom behind a flip down door. Rack or pan slides onto molded rails. 2 wire racks inside of oven. Steam clean feature only takes 30 mins then you wipe clean with a damp sponge. Flat grids on top allow you to slide a large pot from side to side. No fifth burner but plenty of room to keep a pot warm in the center.

I bought this a month ago, great range it replaces a range that was 12 years old. This has better features and bakes items half the time.

I've been using this a lot over last several months. It's cooks and bakes evenly and cleans well. It also looks nice in my kitchen. Very happy with this purchase.

Great oven for the money

Bought this about two months ago replacing it with a ten year old one. I can eat pizza again without it burning. Love cooking on the burners.
