Takes oven very long to pre heat! The bottom storage shelf is not secure when open falls to floor & looks crooked!

Burners stop working!

I purchased this range for my son around 7-8 months ago and the burners have stopped heating, sporadically. They will be working fine on high and then just cool almost completely down without being turned down or anything. The surface is super hard to keep clean. Worst GE appliance we ever owned.
Ironically, I purchased a very similar range a month prior and am having the SAME issues. GE is certainly NOT what it used to be. I have used GE for a very long time and I am an avid cook so I can promise you the problem is NOT operator error. My personal range has been “fixed” three times, yet still does the same thing. I guess I will have to switch to another brand. Apparently GE ranges are now disposable. You’ll be lucky if you get a years worth of cooking on it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re so sorry for the trouble you and your son have had with your ranges regarding the temperature of the coils and can imagine your frustration. The coils on these ranges use Sensi-Temp Technology to help reduce the risk of oil and grease fires. When the sensor detects a pan temperature near the limit (450 degree F), the burner will shut off automatically until a lower, safe pan temperature is reached. At that point, heat will resume to the burner. GE Electric Range

This range was park of a purchase package with my new home. It is cheaply made. It would have been better if it had the self-cleaning feature, which should just be standard. It never sits leveled even after making multiple adjustments to the feet of the stove.

Good stove for price!

A couple of features are not very thought out. The storage drawer does not have a deep enough handle and is very hard to handle. The timer is hard to turn off early. The black color though my choice is very hard to clean.

I had to get it black because of the rest of the appliances and thought I was not going to like it, love it in black! Seems a lot easier to keep clean than my old GE Spectra!
