[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a V20 & fell in love. The v30+ is even better with new features on top of all my first loved ones. The galaxy's do not even come close to being what this phone is. Ty LG!

Faulty Camera
on November 17, 2017

I bought the V30+ phone through Sprint (Oct 13th). I bought the phone specifically because reviews stated the camera was the best of all the new phones, so I wouldn't have to carry my Canon point-and-shoot. At first thought the camera just wasn't very good; I didn't realize until I went on a trip less than a month after that (Nov 2nd), that the camera is outright terrible. I had my husband look at it and he agreed that it is faulty. Sprint wouldn't exchange it because it is after the 14 day policy, and I would have to pay to have them look at it. LG won't replace it, only repair which can take 2-4 weeks and is be without a phone for that long. So much for the 2-year promise. My photos are blurry, it doesn't want to focus up close, doesn't balance out lighting, and it won't capture even the slightest motion (including slow floating fish). I also compared the photos to my friend's and sisters iPhones and their photos were not washed out and perfect in the same conditions. All my old phone cameras were a thousand times better. Very disappointed, especially when they admitted that this camera issue is a known problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know sprint network is not that great in El Paso TX but I think i got a faulty phone. Its got a small buble on the top center of the screen. Barely noticeable but also it lags on some applications. Right now the top bar showed full signal but some application said i didnt have data. When i first got it it wouldnt let me open the google play store. I had to manually stop the app by going into settings. I know its a great phone but mine in particular doesnt seem to be working to its potential.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Quality, easy to use

Great phone, 2 complaints

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The phone can handle whatever you throw at it. No complaints about performance. Plays games with no lag. The screen is big and bright, despite reviews saying it's just "okay" compared to a Samsung screen. I only have 2 complaints.
One negative about the phone... when running at minimum brightness (which I do when I read articles late at night), the screen brightness is a bit uneven in some spots. It's noticeable, but it doesn't affect performance.
Two... the camera. In my eyes it's just not as good as it was hyped up to be. The wide angle is great and makes up for the picture quality because no other phone has the feature, but im having trouble shooting good pictures. I didn't have this problem on my Galaxy s6, which this phone replaced.
Pros: Style/Design, Performance, Quality

A Lemon?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] V30+ is okay... It is my first phone on the Android network, and there are some really weird differences. The voicemail is a separate app from the phone. Call signal quality is below what I'm used to. Is it just network/coverage? I had the same network before...
Screen rotation functionality stopped working for a day. The e-mail app is inferior to what I'm used to, and I can't pinch to zoom out in it when an e-mail is displayed wrong but that has gotten me working on my computer more. I also can't seem to select more than one e-mail at a time to delete.
Voice activation worked reliably for a couple of days, which was pretty cool.
"Okay Google” worked for about a day, that too was pretty cool.
Aspect ratios in apps change when in different battery save modes.
Can’t control volume for separate functions separately (alarm, alerts).
Can’t seem to keep vibration on with sound.
Screenshot function has stopped working, that is very annoying, and I have to hold the home button and ask Google to take a screenshot for me.
Overall, it is kind of frustrating. Maybe I'm just dumb. Anything not listed is good, and it is a very slick, attractive phone. If the other guys hadn't gotten rid of the headphone jack, and didn't fail every time a new one came out, I would probably switch.
Hopefully mine is the exception to the usual quality.
Pros: Style/Design
