Humidifies great--has really bright lights you can't turn off

I bought this humidifier to use instead of an ultrasonic one because I was tired of buying distilled water to prevent the white powder from my very, very hard water. This humidifier works great, though I think the fan is a bit louder than the one in the Vornado ultrasonic humidifier I had. But the lights on this make it impossible to use in a bedroom at night. The ultrasonic humidifier has buttons to adjust everything, with just one tiny led indicator. This humidifier has a touch screen that glows and claims that the screen dims when the light in the room is low. But it really only dims about 10% of the way, and remains a strong glow that can keep you up at night. The worst is that there is a light that glows into the water tank, seemingly for no reason except to make the tank glow brightly. This would be a 5/5 product if they would fix the obnoxious lights so that this could be used in a bedroom while sleeping, which is the main purpose I wanted a humidifier for.

When this Unit is running, it is almost silent. Set at 50% it only took 3 days to reach the desired Humidity Level and began shutting down. It did require filling more often at first due to its smaller tank. However since it is now going off and on rather than running full time it has greatly slowed its water use. This is our Third Vornado Himidifier and at the current time I feel it is the best. The first one is still in use and running fine. The second one did have a Fan Motor that stopped after 7 years of use and was replaced by the EVDC300 that I am reviewing now.

Is well designed and easy to assemble/disassemble. Fan speed has a wide range, and is quiet. For less than $15 more for this model over the standard one I thought why not choose this one to save on energy.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Durable, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Quiet, Stable Base

Great humidifier with a function to set a fixed humidity level

I chose this model because of the Energy Smart feature, design, ability to set it to a fixed humidity level, and type (not a mist humidifier which can leave white dust). I run it at 50% during the day with the bedroom door open so that it reaches the other bedrooms. As I get ready for bed I increase the humidity to 60% and close the door. Before getting into bed, I set it back at 50%. With the drop in night time temperature and the boost in humidity before going to bed, the humidifier hardly goes on all night. If it does it's only for a few minutes on the low fan speed. It has significantly reduced nose dryness. I highly recommend it and it's probably worth the higher price.

I purchase this a month ago to replace Vornado evap 3 & so far I'm happy with it. I like the energy saver feature and its very quiet on the low fan setting. The only thing I don't like is the light coming from inside of the tank makes it too bright to use in the bedroom . The lights on the controls can always be covered with tape but as far as I can see there is no way to turn off light inside of the tank. So I'm just using in living room .

Replaced a very old unit from another company and am real happy with this purchase. Vornado space heates worked well for us in unheated spaces so we decided to try this humidifier. I don't like the white dust that most of the ultrasonic ones create, or the not-quite-undetectable sound. This unit works well, looks pretty good for what it is, and is sturdy. I really appreciate that it doesn't have air intakes on the BOTTOM, like older humidifiers did. Dust and pet fur too easily block those intakes. It's easy to fill AND TO CLEAN the reservoir in this unit too.

This is the second of these evaporative humidifiers that I have bought. Very quiet, energy efficient, easy to use. I like them very much except for one thing: they seem to not have the capacity advertised. I am in a 1300 sq ft space; I have 2 of these running all the time (one set at 60%) and the humidity hovers around 45%, which is my desired level, but it's not hard-core heating season yet and I am wondering if I need a 3rd one. Another issue is the filter - I'm sure it matters what one's water source is, but they seem to need replacing pretty often. It would be great if there was a washable/reusable filter.

Disappointed with Purchase

It leaked from the screw in the bottom of the water tank. The wick stayed dry even after running it overnight. The water tank is poorly designed so it's very hard to hold while trying to unscrew the lid of the tank to add water. I want5ed to like it but couldn't once it began to leak. The tank lid was tight so the leak wasn't from there.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
