So far I am pleased with the refrigerator. One doesn’t have to dig for items in a bin but can see what’s there on a shelf. Other than the fact that it’s not been properly leveled Iam happy with my purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Think twice before buying this fridge

I was renovating my kitchen and decided to also buy a new fridge. I wanted something different than the white, top-load freezer model I had had for almost 20 years. So I picked this one, and immediately regretted it. Now, months later, I regret it even more. 1. Because the fridge part of the side-by-side is so narrow, you have to turn your body sideways, in order to reach the back of the fridge. For reference, I am 5'2" and 135 lbs. I hate to think what happens if someone bigger needs to reach in the back. I notice this every single time I need to get something out of the fridge. 2. I thought the fridge had 2 full-sized vegetable bins. Nope. The bottom bin is only 1/2 depth, I guess because the fridge motor is taking up the space. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, so this is a problem. 3. I thought the 2 vegetable bins were both humidity controlled. Nope. Only the upper bin is humidity controlled. No idea if the lower, smaller bin provides a hi, low or neutral level of humidity. I have no idea because no where in the instructions or manuals does it tell you. Couldn't find anything on the internet either. 4. I thought the model had a meat bin. Nope. I found out I could order one and hope it fits... (I had 2 phone calls to customer support and I could not get a firm confirmation from either rep which bin would fit). 5. The fridge door shelves fall off easily. The door shelves have shallow notches to hold them in place, and if you ever bump up against them (which can easily happen as you are trying to reach the back of the fridge), the shelf comes crashing down with the contents going everywhere. 6. This fridge is really noisy. (I emphasize this fridge has no icemaker, no water dispenser, thus no reason to be so noisy). You would think that fridge technology would improve over time. However, somehow Whirlpool managed to design a fridge that is noisier than my previous fridge, which was 20 years old. This is especially a problem given open concept home designs. 7. Because the fridge space is divided vertically, it makes it hard to arrange the shelves to optimize the available space. I have moved around the shelves a few times now. But at the end of the day, my old fridge - which was 3 cu. feet *smaller* - could store more food in the fridge compartment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Noisy don't buy

Fridge is extremely noisy and runs all the time. Called out a technician who said Whirlpool has reduced insulation and put in low energy motor which necessitates the fridge to run frequently. Had to have doors adjusted as they were not even. Since we live in open concept house, the noise is unbearable, considering returning it. Bought it last week but cannot the stand the noise. Had several fridges in same spot over the years with no discernable noise.
