Current thoughts on this purchase of another Amana product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impressions led me to purchase another Amana product. This refrigerator was on backorder for nearly (2) weeks, which I was made aware of prior to purchase however. I then I received a call from the company on the day before the scheduled arrival was to occur, and the company expressed an apology, but the delivery would have to be delayed another week. That was somewhat disheartening. Another couple of areas that I have observed also yield themselves to frustration for the refrigerator: 1) There are no plastic hinge covers present on top of the hinges, but instead, these hinges have merely been painted black. On earlier products plastic covers were placed on them which better refines the appearance. "Cost savings" I guess... 2) When cleaning up the refrigerator after delivery, and removing tape, and Styrofoam packing, I observed while I cleaned the top of the unit, there were (2) noticeable slots where foam insulation was applied and both slots were simply covered over with decals, rather than installing factory "plugs" to cover over these unsightly cosmetic blemishes. On these areas mentioned, I would have to give the manufacturer a failing grade. Let's hope mechanically, the unit has not been "cost savings" neglected........

I have to add ice to the water if I want a cold glass of water. My old refrigerator dispensed cold water and I wish my new one did the same,
