When the frig starts the compressor, loud noise come from the frig and sounds like popcorn is popping for about 20-30 seconds. Very annoying. Any suggestions to fix or replace without me handling the refrigerator?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, Pitch1010.
We appreciate you for dropping by with your feedback.
Your comments are vital to us as we constantly strive to be the best home appliance company in North America.
I am bummed out to hear your fridge is making loud sounds. Your new, high-efficiency refrigerator may introduce unfamiliar sounds.
These sounds normally indicate your refrigerator is operating correctly. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable.
Please keep in mind today’s compressors run much faster than in the past. Your compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. For additional information about the sounds your fridge makes, I recommend reviewing the “NORMAL OPERATING SOUNDS AND SIGHTS” of your Use & Care guide page 19.
Based on the details you provided, I do show you have a diagnostic service call scheduled. I am confident our specialists and authorized service provider team will be able to pinpoint the issue you are experiencing.
Please keep us updated on your service call. We can be reached at 800-374-4432 and available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-8pm EST. Or, you may send an email to socialcare@frigidaire.com.
Best Regards- Derrick

My new refrigerator makes occasional clicking type noises that I never heard in my old one.
Response from frigidaire.comBy Derrick, Online Outreach Specialist, July 17, 2019
Hello, bbbubba.
Thanks for your review and making us part of your household.
I am bummed out to hear your fridge is making a “clicking” sound. Your new, high-efficiency refrigerator may introduce unfamiliar sounds.
These sounds normally indicate your refrigerator is operating correctly. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable.
Based on the details you described, it does appear the “clicking” sound is your automatic defrost control. These parts can produce a snapping or clicking sound when turning the cooling system on and off. For additional information about the sounds your fridge makes, I recommend reviewing the “NORMAL OPERATING SOUNDS AND SIGHTS” of your Use & Care guide page 19.
Should the sound become louder, please give us a call. Our Customer Care Team will be happy to assist you further. We can be reached by dialing 800-374-4432 and available Monday through Friday from 8:30am-8pm EST.
Regards-Derrick

Very noisy. . .

This refrigerator came with our house and it makes a loud knocking noise. I have had it one month and had a repair man come out and he said it was normal, just the gasses doing whatever they do. I have never had a refrigeraror make a noise like this before. Very unhappy with it.
Response from frigidaire.comBy Ashton, Online Outreach Specialist, February 13, 2020
Hi, Vertigokitten!
Thank you for sharing your experience. It is normal for the refrigerator to make a knocking noise when activating defrost mode. We understand this may take some getting used to! The following video should be helpful in identifying normal operating sounds: https://youtu.be/eD7imT3w4bw. Noisy knocking
on February 18, 2020
Posted by: Twonap
This is the second Frigidaire delivered and set up, the first was returned because it had a annoying knocking noise every time the compressor kicked on, I thought it was a manufacturing defect, the box store I purchased from was great, they delivered a new fridge, same exact model and same condition exist. I'm so frustrated and thinking of returning for a different brand.
Response from frigidaire.comBy Briana, Online Outreach Specialist, February 19, 2020
Hello, Twonap! Thank you for your feedback! We sincerely apologize for your experience with your refrigerator. With your new appliance, modern, high-efficiency compressors operate much faster than older models. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. These are all normal sounds and soon will become familiar to you. The sounds indicate your appliance is operating as designed. Hard surfaces, such as vinyl or wood floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make sounds more noticeable. Should you need further assistance, please feel free to chat with us online at Frigidaire.com or contact us via phone at 800-374-4432 M-F, 8:30 am- 8:00 pm EST. ~Briana
