We purchased this unit for our living room . We had purchased one 2 years prior for our family room. It does a decent job for the price , it is a bit noisey on the high setting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just bought this unit due to my Hvac outage on the first floor, which is appoximately 1000+ sq feet, this thing cools the entire floor comfortably! Love it!

Ice cold...when it's not frozen

I bought this for my room because my family and I often fight over the temp of the house. This thing gets really cold and cools the room off quickly. I have it set on the Eco mode and it come on for 15-30 seconds and then turns back off. The love the remote sensor for the temp in the room. The bad thing about this unit is that it keeps freezing up. I'll wake up hot as blazes just to realize that it's frozen. I'll turn it off and let it thaw and once I turn it back on it just freezes right back up. Now I will admit that I like it colder then most people and that could possibly be the reason it keeps freezing but if you offer a temp on a unit then it should be able to successfully achieve that temp.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
