Frigidaire 12000 BTU

We'vehad this unit for 2 months now. Works great! Keeps our living room area nice and cconfortable while also being quiet. Definitely would recommend and will purchase another unit when need be.

Doing a great job

We bought this unit to replace the exact same unit (minus the air clean option) that had only lasted a couple of years, and died in the middle of summer. I didn't have time to shop around, and the big box store up the street had them in stock, so I bought one and had it going in a couple of hours.
It's doing the same great job in cooling our 600 sq ft living room it's predecessor did.
I haven't found out how the "air clean" mode works, I just keep it selected.
Great unit when it's working. Hoping for a little longer life on this one.
To be honest, I ran the other one 24/7/365 in "cool" and on this one I switch it to "econo" at nights, and back to "cool" during the day, so it might have an easier life.
It's doing the same great job in cooling our 600 sq ft living room it's predecessor did.

Caused Mold

I bought this less than a year ago, and it's already infested with mold because the unit does not drain water. So when I spotted mold all over my unit after having it less than a year, I looked at the back of the unit and there was a large amount of standing water and gunk. It was a nightmare to try to clean, and I was so frustrated. The unit worked fine, I was just very displeased with the design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Oh no, Jnhickm1! I can certainly understand how disappointing this may have caused you. Proper tilting of your air conditioner, as described in your Installation Instructions that came with your A/C, will assist with the water accumulation inside your air conditioner. If you see you are in an area with high humidity I would recommend the use of a dehumidifier. I hope this information is helpful.
