No way to remove for service

When we installed it we realized that once installed we would not be able to pull it back out for servicing if needed. It will need to be CUT out. Doesn't seem to shut off. It runs all the time. Definitely purchase the warranty/service contract when purchasing - you are going to need it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I AM HAPPY WITH THIS UNIT,WE SET THE MODE ON ECON AT 68 DEGREES, IT KEEPS MY 1800SQFT HOUSE AT ABOUT 74 WHEN IT IS 98 OUTSIDE

This unit replaced the second one we have had in the living room in our small island home. The older units did a fair job cooling the house but with the Florida summer heat it only cooled the living room and a bedroom unit had to help to make the kitchen cool . This unit on 50 % cools the whole house down and in the evening you can turn the fan to low and still keep the living room cold and is so quiet you don't have to raise the TV sound to mask the AC's fan like the older units. If the heat works like the AC the house will stay toasty warm. Typically the mild winters we have on the island we use it very little. Instlation was easy and

I bought this new about 15 months ago...It now has a fan motor that went out in it...Good thing i have the extended warranty because it's a costly fix...The service man let me know that for this larger model their having problems on a wide scale with the fan motors...He said the older ones u had to oil,the fan motor once a year,the newer ones they claim u don't need too...But he told me he believes the fan motor is losing oil...So if it's a sealed deal inside then apparently their seals are leaking some place and apparently it's happening to a lot of people..I will be at least 1 week before getting it fixed...For now the ac is holding up only screaming sporadically if it goes out in 90+ weather it's going to be very hot i probably have to vacate my home..So save your money buy a better brand...

Great until now

We purchased this unit about 3 years ago. We have never had any problems with it until last week. Now, it will not cool, and our temps are in the high 90's right now. It is actually cooler outside than it is inside. We are told it needs Freon, but cannot find anyone or anywhere to do this. That being said, I would not recommend this unit since there is no place to get it repaired.

The unit is great for both cooling and heating. How can I keep the heater on instead of auto? For heating and Econ the untit only provides auto as the setting.
