Great Air Conditioner

I finally installed this unit and used for one night and found it very quite and easy to install. I look forward to saving lots of money this summer cooling season with this Energy Star unit over the unit I have last year, which was built in 1996. Love the adjustable louvers and remote control unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great, but a bit loud.

Would've been a 5 star if it wasn't for the noise. I wish they'd have a decibel chart to help with the decision of what model to buy. I use it in the control room in my recording studio. The studio needs to remain "cool" at all times because of the equipment. No problem whatsoever cooling off the room, and sometime the room adjacent. Still, I have to switch off the A/C to get better perspective on my mixes. Very cordial customer service rep took my call when I had a question about the unit. Thank you! L.R. Perez

It is normal to hear ‘high pitch chatter’ a sound of rushing air, gurgle/hiss, pinging or swishing and vibration. These are all normal. For more information of normal sounds during operation, please refer to page 4 in the Owner’s Manual for your model. Verify that the original installation procedures have been followed properly. Pay special attention to any gaskets. If improperly installed, even a high quality, low-noise unit can rattle mercilessly. I have passed your recommendation about decibel levels to be included in the specifications for air conditioners, to our design engineers for consideration with future models. Love the Auto feature!

Constantly keeps the room at a cool level. I have to keep my apartment cool during the summer for my pugs. I have a small one bedroom apartment. I have the ac unit in the living room window. A column fan in the bedroom combined with the ac is enough to keep my bedroom cool at night (and I am sensitive to heat)

I've only been using this air conditioner about a month and I love it. When I ordered it I had it on my doorstep the very next day. My son installed it and was very simple. Cools very good and remote works fine,

Temperature sensor is off

I bought it and it seems to work great but the temperature sensor reads 5 degrees cooler than it really is. I have verified this through 3 different devices which were all within 1 degree of each other but the air conditioner always thinks its 5 degrees cooler than it really is. Not sure where the sensor is

Keeping us cool!

The unit we purchased is installed in a kitchen window which faces the hallway. The cool air flows directly down the the adjoining rooms keeping us comfortable during the hot days and humid nights.

TOO NOISY

The unit cools quite well, but it's too noisy for a bedroom. It makes this loud continuous crackling noise that keeps me up at night & I only run it on low, so it's not the fan speed. It's hard to tell if there is something wrong with the unit or this is just the way it sounds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I hate to hear about your recent A/C experience, sleepless. Does the sound appear at the beginning or throughout the cooling cycle? I also recommend checking your Owner's Manual (page 4) to make sure that the sounds that you're hearing are not part of the A/C's normal operation.
