Doesn’t keep trash compacted

The compactor smashes the trash for a hot second and then releases so trash doesn’t stay compacted. It should have a feature that keeps trash compacted until you are ready to add more trash

Disappointed I couldn’t match it with the cafe black matte. It is a black shiny and you see all the fingerprints

Perfect Replacement!

Replaced a Kitchen Aid model that we purchased 20 years ago. Loved that it was easy to use and no buttons or knobs to turn. To smash trash, all that is needed is to touch the front pedal. Much quieter that the one being replaced.

This compactor is awful. I can crush the items with my bare carpal tunnel hands and get a better crush. It was really a waste of money.

Lacks basic features

There are basic features that are important to me that this appliance is lacking
. The compactor door does not have a handle. There are times when that is important.
The foot pedal to open the compactor door is not user friendly to me. I find it is to small to operate barefoot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not what it used to be

In order to "save energy" they have compromised the efficiency and durability of trash compactors and I'm sure many other appliances. Our first compactor lasted 30 years with a 6:1 compacted ratio. The next one lasted 5 with a 4:1 ratio. The jury is still out on how long this one will last. It has been 2 months and we are already experiencing problems with the pull out front door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
